Planning Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> March 20, 2001 <br /> Page 4 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 6. APPROVAL OF BUILDING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS-MOLLY OLIVIER,SEH. <br /> 3. Olivier reviewed the cost of the Silver Point Project with the Commission and indicated that she had <br />- 4 adjusted the prices to include the changes made prior to tonight's suggestions;and expressed concern <br /> 5 with pulling any numbers at this point. -She stated that the cost for the Silver Point Project is still <br /> 6 close to $300,000. Ms. Olivier identified the buffer zone of the project, which is 15% of the total <br /> 7 cost, and indicated that it is high. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Commissioner Zurbey questioned the impact that the environmental issues and the pollution in the <br /> 10 park will have on the current plans. Mr.Hartman said he believed that the timelines for the building <br /> 11 project and the pollution project would turn out. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Chair Jindra asked if these figures have been given to the City. Mr. Hartman responded that they <br /> 14 had been presented to the City Council, and the Council had determined that the tentative date for <br /> 15 the bids to be considered by the Council is May 8, 2001,and the tentative construction date would <br /> 16 be June. 15, 2001. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Mr.Hartman indicated that the start date had been moved back because the bids are coming in later, <br /> 19 as the environmental issues have changed things significantly. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Commissioner Zurbey expressed-his concern with the use of the fields for school.games and <br /> 22 playoffs. He said he needed confirmation on dates that the field can be used. Mr.Hartman indicated <br /> 23 he would work with him on dates. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Ms. Olivier indicated that she has started construction documents, there will be a two-week . <br /> 26 advertising period, and then the bidding will begin. She indicated that Silver Point Park would be <br /> 27 up and running in October. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Ms. Olivier and the Commission will meet on Wednesday, April 11d, at 2:00 p.m. to tour the park <br /> 30 and decide on the proposed changes from the meeting tonight. The Commission decided to entrust <br /> 31 the subcommittee to follow through on the decisions that are made with Ms. Olivier, who will then <br /> 32 get the project moving. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Mr. Hartman stated that May ?will be the bid opening, and that the Commission will present the <br /> 35 bids to the City Council on May 8`h at their Work Session. The Commission decided to meet on <br /> 36 Thursday, May 3`d at 5:30 p.m. to review the bids before they are presented to the Council. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 6. REPORTS. <br /> 39 A. Community Services <br /> 40 Commissioner Skrivseth indicated that a water facility is definitely desired in the plans for Central <br /> 41 Park. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 B.
