Planning Commission Meeting Minutes March 20, 2001 Page 4 1 2 6. APPROVAL OF BUILDING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS-MOLLY OLIVIER,SEH. 3. Olivier reviewed the cost of the Silver Point Project with the Commission and indicated that she had - 4 adjusted the prices to include the changes made prior to tonight's suggestions;and expressed concern 5 with pulling any numbers at this point. -She stated that the cost for the Silver Point Project is still 6 close to $300,000. Ms. Olivier identified the buffer zone of the project, which is 15% of the total 7 cost, and indicated that it is high. 8 9 Commissioner Zurbey questioned the impact that the environmental issues and the pollution in the 10 park will have on the current plans. Mr.Hartman said he believed that the timelines for the building 11 project and the pollution project would turn out. 12 13 Chair Jindra asked if these figures have been given to the City. Mr. Hartman responded that they 14 had been presented to the City Council, and the Council had determined that the tentative date for 15 the bids to be considered by the Council is May 8, 2001,and the tentative construction date would 16 be June. 15, 2001. 17 18 Mr.Hartman indicated that the start date had been moved back because the bids are coming in later, 19 as the environmental issues have changed things significantly. 20 21 Commissioner Zurbey expressed-his concern with the use of the fields for school.games and 22 playoffs. He said he needed confirmation on dates that the field can be used. Mr.Hartman indicated 23 he would work with him on dates. 24 25 Ms. Olivier indicated that she has started construction documents, there will be a two-week . 26 advertising period, and then the bidding will begin. She indicated that Silver Point Park would be 27 up and running in October. 28 29 Ms. Olivier and the Commission will meet on Wednesday, April 11d, at 2:00 p.m. to tour the park 30 and decide on the proposed changes from the meeting tonight. The Commission decided to entrust 31 the subcommittee to follow through on the decisions that are made with Ms. Olivier, who will then 32 get the project moving. 33 34 Mr. Hartman stated that May ?will be the bid opening, and that the Commission will present the 35 bids to the City Council on May 8`h at their Work Session. The Commission decided to meet on 36 Thursday, May 3`d at 5:30 p.m. to review the bids before they are presented to the Council. 37 38 6. REPORTS. 39 A.
