Mr. Hubmer <br /> 6 answered in the affirmative and stated that a public information meeting will be held on January <br /> 7 28, 2004 and the formal notice of assessment will be sent out next week. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Councilmember Thuesen stated he is close to this year's construction project and, at a recent <br /> 10 neighborhood get together, a concern was brought up about a drainage issue in relationship to the <br /> 11 street project. Mr. Hubmer stated at the first public information meeting the residents mentioned <br /> 12 a number of back yard drainage issues. Some of the areas have been addressed and the others <br /> 13 were added. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Councilmember Thuesen asked how they approach the issue to make sure all areas of drainage <br /> 16 problems are addressed. Mr. Hubmer stated they try to address those issues through the public <br /> 17 information process where input is gathered from residents, including the issue of drainage. He <br /> 18 stated there are a few areas that will need to be addressed in the long term once the money <br /> 19 becomes available. He stated the residents usually notify City staff and notes are made to assure <br /> 20 they are brought forward during the project. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Councilmember Thuesen asked Mr. Hubmer to emphasize to the residents that they need to bring <br /> 23 those issues forward to make sure all are addressed. He asked when the issues of topography <br /> 24 and change in elevation are addressed. Mr. Hubmer stated with last year's project there was <br /> 25 only one area where the property elevation was changed. With the 2004 project, there are no <br /> 26 major changes in elevation. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Councilmember Stille stated while campaigning he heard concerns from residents related to <br /> 29 timing of construction. He asked if the contract requires the contractor to keep to a certain <br /> 30 schedule. Mr. Hubmer stated the contractor is required to submit a schedule and notification if <br /> 31 there are changes to the schedule. He stated that the schedule is also sent to the residents to keep <br /> 32 them informed. In addition, a refrigerator magnet is given to each resident that contains <br /> 33 telephone numbers to call if questions arise. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 2. Resolution 04-014, re: Declare Cost to be Assessed and Order Preparation of <br /> 38 Proposed Street Improvement Assessments for 2004. <br /> 39 Mr. Hubmer stated the project cost is proposed to be $1,700,000 and the contractor bid was <br /> 40 $1,288,929.58.. The City's portion is $1,310,000 and property owner's portion is $390,000. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Motion by Councilmember Faust, seconded by Councilmember Thuesen, to adopt Resolution <br /> 43 04-014,re: Declare Cost to be Assessed and Order Preparation of Proposed Street Improvement <br /> 44 Assessments for 2004. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 Motion carried unanimously. <br />
