The group discussed the f
commercial versus public dilemma where electronic signs are placed. The consensus was it is best f
to change the city code as it relates to the electronic sign-for public. Most agreed the location by the
tennis courts is preferred, if it fits in the budget, otherwise choose the alternate site, which is in front .
of Central Park-along,Silver..Lake.Road. There was some discussion about articulating what the.'
sign.should look like, and for.that vision to be conveyed to the City Council.
2) St. Anthony Shopping Center. The area surrounding the St Anthony Shopping Center was
discussed. Redevelopment was the focus of conversation, like what to do at the site, especially
with the Stonehouse and the Fire Station. With the City acquiring 40,000 square feet at Custom
Liquidators plus the 40,000 square feet already acquired at Kenzie Terrace and the 26,000 square
feet Hitching Post easement One frustration discussed is the lack of investment or interest on the
Shopping Center's part to construct green space. Why should the City put $200,000 - $300,000 .
into the area if the Center owners aren't doing anything? One idea discussed is to get the
easement back, and to get money back, if possible.
planning is underway. The process and
3) Northwest Quadrant: The redevelopment master
potential was discussed. !' !
4) Housing Stock: Housing code issues were.discussed.
