-5- <br /> • RESOLUTION 80-060 <br /> A RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE PHYSICAL <br /> DEVELOPMENT COMMI.TTEE' S RECOMMENDED <br /> ALLOCATION OF HUD SECTION 701. GRANT FUNDS <br /> (REFERRAL .REPORT NO. 80-211) <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Mayor then inquired .as to .what form. the Councilwanted the City-' s <br /> appreciation- shown to those .committee. members who. serve without pay <br /> on the Planning Commission, -Cable T.V. Advisory. Committee and the <br /> Advisory Committee to- the City Health Board. Members and their <br /> spouses will be invited to attend-a dinner meeting to-be ,planned by <br /> staff for the middle of January. The program for the meeting will <br /> developed for Council consideration .within the next few weeks. <br /> Mayor Haik next. suggested an open- house-type of gathering where <br /> corporations heads, merchants and residents will be invited to <br /> learn how the City government .oper.ates. Mr. Soth agreed an open <br /> house where the public is invited: with only coffee and cookies, etc. <br /> to be served would be preferable to a- dinner where only a select <br /> group of. persons would be invited. <br /> • The date for the St. Anthony Government Day was- set for November. <br /> 12th (November 19th as alternate) . Invitations to corporations, <br /> the merchants associations for both shopping centers , professionals <br /> in Apache Medical Center, community church clergy as well as those <br /> county, state and. federal government officials who represent the <br /> City, will be sent by staff who will .also prepare the. program for <br /> the observance. Council members were each assigned a City depart- <br /> ment whose operation they are to present that evening. The public <br /> will be notified of the event through the St. Anthony Bulletin <br /> publicity and in the City newsletter which goes out in mid-October. <br /> Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Sundland to <br /> request the City Manager to indicate the City' s willingness to have <br /> the Minnesota November aid payment deferred until January 15 , <br /> 1981 as requested by the Commissioner of Revenue. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Marks to <br /> table action on the Robert Calvert request for a beer permit because <br /> the applicant has failed to submit the requested information by <br /> which a determination can be made as .to whether. his application <br /> conforms. to policy regarding liquor in the parks established in <br /> Resolution 80-058. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> • <br />
