-4- <br /> Councilman .Ranallo stated,. and .the other members concurred, that <br /> discussion of ..additional .compensation during this period for Mr. <br /> Hamer could be accomplished at a later date. <br /> Councilman Marks stated that as a. result of a serious accident at <br /> 32nd and Rankin, residents of that. area had expressed a desire to <br /> have a stop sign -placed .at that corner. Mr. Fornell said the resi- <br /> dents should provide ..a petition stating their wish and in the interim <br /> he would initiate an investigation and .provide an assessment of <br /> that corner. <br /> The Council .noted the petition from residents to place a street <br /> light on a present N.S.P. pole .at 3030-3034 Harding Street N.E. <br /> Mr. Fornell stated the placing of the light would- be consistent <br /> with the City' s Comprehensive street lighting plan. <br /> Motion. by Councilman Ranallo. and seconded by Councilman Letourneau <br /> to have City staff coordinate, with N..S.P. , the erection of a street <br /> light at 3030-3034 Harding Street N.E. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Council next -considered. a request for a block. party to be held <br /> at 3424 Croft .Drive. N.E. . on June 27th. Maynard .and Todd Boyce, <br /> 3424 Croft Drive were .present to 'discuss their request. The Boyce ' s <br /> stated the purpose of the request is for a planned. wedding reception. <br /> Mr. Fornell expressed ..his uneasiness about this request in that it <br /> was. not a true block party, .but a .wedding reception; but in either <br /> • case the proposer - should show evidence of ..support from all other <br /> people-.on the .block. The Boyce' s.'admitted. they had talked to most <br /> , of the neighboring residents, . but..not .all. Mr. Soth stated there <br /> should -.be some criteria established for block party requests . <br /> It was agreed :by the Council .to .postpone a- decision on this matter <br /> until the .April .28th meeting, which would provide staff the opportunity <br /> to .propose criteria and a policy for block party requests . <br /> Motion by Councilman :Marks and seconded..by Councilman. Sundland to <br /> approve the permit for a carnival at .Apache Plaza for May 19-24 . <br /> Motion carried unanimously.. <br /> Motion .by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by .Mr. Marks to approve <br /> the permit for a carnival as requested for Midwest Rides scheduled <br /> for April 23 - May 3. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Fire . Department and Police. Department reports were accepted as <br /> informational. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Letourneau <br /> to grant all .licenses listed in the April 14th Council agenda. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br />
