CITY. OF .ST. ANTHONY <br /> COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> June 9 , 1981 <br /> The meeting was reconvened by Mayor Haik at 7 :30 P.M. <br /> Present for roll call : Marks , Sundland, Haik, Ranallo and Letourneau. <br /> Also present: Larry Hamer, Acting City Manager;-: Ron Berg, Administrative <br /> Assistant; and Carol Johnson, Clerk/Treasurer. <br /> The minutes of the regular Council meeting held May 26th were amended <br /> to add the following to the .motion on Page 5 , para. 4 : <br /> "If the Nordstrom Agency has a problem with Alexander and Alexander <br /> serving as the City' s agent, the. Acting -City Manager.. is directed <br /> to call a special Council meeting. May 28th at 5 :00 P.M. , to rescind <br /> the appointment, if information to support such action is provided <br /> during that meeting. " <br /> The minutes for the special Council meeting held. May 28th, were amended <br /> to substitute for - the last sentence on page l and continued on page <br /> 2 , the following: <br /> "After further discussion, Mr. Day stated, "there is no accessible <br /> clause in the St. Anthony Workmen' s Compensation policy" , and, <br /> "all bids were firm quotations, with theexceptionof the Work- <br /> men' s Compensation policy, which is subject to audit (on salaries) , <br /> as is any'Workmen: s Compensation premium. " <br /> Motion by Councilman .Sundland and seconded by Councilman Marks to <br /> approve as amended the minutes for the Council meetings held May 26 <br /> and 28, 1981, ,and to approve as submitted the minutes of the Board of <br /> Review held. May 26 ; 1981. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Mayor said she is grateful. .to the Advisory Committee to the Health <br /> Board for the service they are providing regarding the development of <br /> a housing maintenance codeformultiple family dwellings. Councilman <br /> Marks indicated he ."hopes the Committee will continue to concentrate <br /> on this type of dwelling rather than on single family dwellings or <br /> duplexes" . <br /> Jim Stephens, who serves on that. Committee, assured him that the general <br /> consensus of the group had been not to consider maintenance codes for <br /> either of these types of dwellings but, although the Committee had not <br /> to date considered rental properties, could do so later. if the Council <br /> so desires . Mr.. Hamer commented that it might be more .difficult for <br /> inspectors to gain access to single family rather than multiple family <br /> dwellings, and he was concerned the City not .be held liable for inspec- <br /> tions of persons not certified in their respective field, i.e. , <br /> electrical. <br />
