-2- <br /> Mr. Stephens, who .also serves on the Chemical Abuse Information Com- <br /> mittee, discussed- the recommendations from the Committee to the Council <br /> and the District 282 School Board as contained in- the June report, <br /> which had been submitted. along .with the Committee ' s May . 19th Minutes , <br /> reflecting their goals and the _extent to which they have been accomplished <br /> to date. _ The Chemical Use Survey for St. Anthony .Village School <br /> District 282 had been submitted .by Evelyn Holthus., coordinator of the <br /> Chemical. Abuse Program in the district schools , and. Mr. Stephens <br /> indicated he believed the results verified . "a: serious problem with <br /> chemical abuse in the schools starting- in the -seventh grade, which make <br /> it very important to have a person like .Mrs. Holthus working. in the <br /> community" . Since October .has'.been...designated as..Chemical Awareness <br /> for Responsible Decisions Month, .the .Committee representative reiterated <br /> the Commissionrecommendation that a .new Committee not .be appointed <br /> until at least November... He then addressed Councilman Sundland' s <br /> concerns that the Committee efforts might be .a duplication of the <br /> school' s .by telling .the Councilman,. ."the Committee is only an <br /> informational body whose chief responsibility -is to .make .the community <br /> aware of the various agencies who are available to aid with chemical <br /> abuse problems" . <br /> Mayor Haik .suggested dialogue .with .present .members of .the Committee <br /> regarding their continuance .on...the Committee could be instigated during <br /> November and .December", but appointments- made along with those for <br /> other advisory bodies, in .January ..when budgeting for those organizations <br /> is also considered. <br /> Motion by Councilman Marks and .seconded by Councilman .Letourneau to <br /> approve the second reading of Ordinance 1981-008 . <br /> ORDINANCE 1981-008 <br /> AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SAFETY REQUIREMENTS <br /> FOR SWIMMING POOLS; AMENDING SECTION 335 :15 (a) <br /> OF THE 1973 CODE OF ORDINANCES <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion .by Councilman Sundland -and seconded. by Councilman Letourneau <br /> to .adopt Resolution- 81-040. <br /> RESOLUTION 81-040 <br /> A. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND <br /> ACTING CITY MANAGER TO. .EXECU.TE THE AGREEMENT <br /> WITH LOREN E. SWANSON AND ARLENE' M. SWANSON AND <br /> C. G. HILL COMPANY TO RELOCATE THE PROPOSED <br /> CUL DE SAC AT. THE END OF ANTHONY LAND NORTH <br /> Motion carried . unanimously. <br /> Motion .by Councilman Ranallo .and .seconded by Councilman Sundland to <br /> adopt Resolution 81-0.41. <br /> RESOLUTION 81-041 <br /> . A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> THE CITY AND- THE A.F.S .C.M.E. LOCAL NO. 57 , RE- <br /> PRESENTING THE ST. ANTHONY POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br />
