-3-
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Ranallo
• to adopt Resolution 81-065.
RESOLUTION 81-065
A RESOLUTION APPROVING ELECTION OF
DAVID M. CHILDS TO BE EXCLUDED FROM
THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Councilman. Marks and seconded by Councilman Sundland to
adopt Resolution 81-066.
RESOLUTION 81-066
A. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT
WITH CITY MANAGER RELATING TO
DEFERRED COMPENSATION
Motion carried unanimously.
No one appeared to present the M & .M Corporation request that the
City continue providing sanitary sewer service for the warehouse
they built just over the Roseville boundary lines until their plan
for acquiring and developing adjoining property is realized. This
request had been supported by the August 31st letter from Roseville.
Mr. Hamer explained that M & M had planned on Roseville' s extending
sewer service to the warehouse from County Road C, but the Rose-
ville engineer had advised- against it when he ascertained the sewer
trunk line for the building had been constructed higher than the
building and seemed to require a force main and lift station.
Councilman Sundland indicated he was not as adamant against the
service continuation since Roseville had requested the City extend
the temporary permit. The Mayor agreed that, as long as the City
has the capacity to provide the service and will be adequately
compensated for expenses incurred for the provision of such service,
the Roseville request should be honored. Mr. Childs reported other
communities have a policy of doubling their rates for- service beyond
their boundaries and Mr. Soth suggested that rather -than rewriting
the agreement each year, the rates could be established by resolution,
on a year by- year basis. Councilmen Ranallo and Letourneau indicated
they would only agree to an extension of the permit if M & M, or
whoever owns the building, is required to appear before the Council
each year, as a reminder to them that the City wants the service
terminated as soon as possible.
Motion. by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Marks to
approve the extension of the temporary sewer service permit which
expires December 31, 1981, on a year by year basis , at a rate of
$1. 50 per cubic hundred feet, for the M'. & M warehouse at P.O. Box
9402 , Minneapolis , Minnesota 55440 . Future rates shall be established
at the Council ' s discretion each year, by resolution, with the City
retaining the right not to extend the service at any time. Any
additional expenses incurred shall be paid by the building owner.
