-9- <br /> Chief Hickerson answered Council questions related to the City Ordin- <br /> ance addition his department is proposing in an effort to cut down on <br /> • the misuse and careless or negligent operation of certain alarm <br /> systems in the City. His letter to City businessmen .explaining the <br /> new ordinance to them was included in the agenda packet. Mr. Childs <br /> said he believes the City can maintain better control over the type <br /> of alarm systems which' are installed if they are licensed. The Mayor <br /> recommended offenders should be penalized for the fourth , rather than <br /> the third, false alarm in a. .six week period and changes were accepted <br /> on pages 5 and 6 of the proposed ordinance to reflect this change . <br /> Motion by 'Councilman Marks and seconded by Councilman Letourneau to <br /> .approve the first reading, as modified, for Ordinance 1982-001 . <br /> ORDINANCE 1982-001 <br /> AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO CERTAIN ALARMS; <br /> REQUIRING ALARM USERS TO OBTAIN LICENSES <br /> PROVIDING FOR ISSUANCE OF LICENSES AND REVOCATION <br /> THEREOF; PROHIBITING CERTAIN INTERCONNECTIONS AND <br /> AUTOMATIC DIALING PRACTICES; AND ALLOCATING EXPENSES <br /> FOR FALSE ALARMS; AMENDING CHAPTER IV OF THE 1973 <br /> CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING A SECTION <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Mayor Sundland to adjourn <br /> the meeting at 10 : 01 P.M. <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Helen Crowe <br /> Secretary <br /> Mayor <br /> ATTEST: &tL(-�i_k6 <br /> City Clerk <br />
