Councilman .Enrooth reported one resident had called him to report a "For Sale" sign-on one of these vehicles , wonder- ing whether the site is being used for "a used car lot" . Mr. Sroga's reaction to these complaints has .been that the City dug up his property • for the sewer diversion pipes and he. can' t use the- screened in area until the frost is out of the ground -and the gravel can be replaced by the City crews . Mr. Soth commented he .believes -"it would be reasonable for the City to inquire. ab.out the failure.. to comply with parking agreements for this. site. but the. City 's ability to withhold the license for the station would depend upon the requirement for fencing" . , Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Marks to table the service station license for the Sroga Standard Station on Stinson until the next .Council .mee.ting .to which Mr. Sroga -and his neighbors will be 'invited to.. air their differences- regarding the station' s appearance. The Mayor urged .that the City 's. concerns. related to the. surface water management legislation which recently passed be presented at the public hearing scheduled-by the Metropolitan .Council- April 29th and Mr. Childs will prepare a listing of the .City' s. and the .AMM's questions about the new state agency for Council consideration at their next meeting. Councilman Marks indicated he .perceives there is- a great concern on the part of many people that the Metropolitan Council is over- stepping its authority as an advisory body to the. State Legislature and, in ' some instances , appears to be a legislative entity on its own, a problem he anticipates. will be addressed by. the legislative committee which has been established to oversee the Metropolitan Council' s activities . The Mayor. noted the League of Minnesota Cities is requesting nomina toins to their Board of Directors and reported the Metropolitan Transit Commission has notified -him that, altho.ugh .they will be con- structing .bus shelters at the 29th and .39th Avenues N.E. intersections with Silver 'Lake Road. this year, because of budget restrictions , they will defer the shelter construction planned for 33rd and Stinson Boulevard .for at least a year. The . joint meeting of the Council-.and .Community Service Advisory Board • members this year will- be a- barbecue held in. the inner court of the Parkview building, weather permitting, according to Councilman Enrooth.
