-3- <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> • A number of questions were raised related to the temporary 3. 2 beer <br /> permit requested for the LeDoux's Corner N.E. softball tournament to <br /> be held in Central Park, August 11th and 12th, for which $200 a day in <br /> rental fees were to be charged. <br /> Motion' by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Mayor Sundland to table <br /> action on the application for a temporary 3. 2 beer permit from Thomas <br /> Brama for the softball tournament to be held August 11th and 12th, until <br /> staff has investigated further the applicant's home address and whether <br /> the applicant proposed the sale of beer. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Enrooth to <br /> approve payment .of all verified claims listed for May 31, 1984 in the <br /> May 22 , 1984 Council agenda, as well as $1, 393.65 to Dorsey & Whitney <br /> for legal services during April, 1984 . <br /> Motion carried unanimously.- <br /> Councilman Ranallo indicated he was very encouraged to see the City ' s <br /> Marketing Committee would be looking into ways of aiding young families <br /> to purchase homes in St. Anthony. He was also pleased to find that <br /> the Committee intends to cooperate in the grand reopening of the Silver <br /> • Lake Mall (,Apache Plaza) and it was noted that the garden clubs would <br /> be workingwith the mall management to improve the aesthetics of the <br /> area around the center. <br /> Councilman Enrooth reported attending a recent meeting of the Silver <br /> Lake Home. Owners Association at the. Salvatioh Army campgrounds and said <br /> he perceives- the lake to be a real asset to the City, one which may have <br /> previously been overlooked. The Councilman indicated there had been a <br /> great deal of discussion about the misuse of the lake and a Columbia <br /> Heights Police Officer who was in attendance had told the residents <br /> their complaints about racing boats , etc. , should be directed to either <br /> the Ramsey or Anoka County Sheriff 's -.Offices . The Mayor said he had <br /> investigated and found Ramsey County is responsible for policing the <br /> lake and had suggested to them that it might be beneficial to have <br /> the water patrol to make an occasional appearance on the lake . <br /> Councilman Makowske said she had received a call related to the City 's <br /> Channel 11 T.V. advertising for the new liquor warehouse which the <br /> caller had termed as "very tasteless Ray Nelson had received many <br /> complimentary comments about the same television spot, according to the <br /> Manager. <br /> The. January, financial report and the May fire department report and <br /> liquor operation summary were accepted as informational following a <br /> brief discussion of the latter in which. Mr. Childs advised that the <br /> auditor had indicated the next report might give a more accurate profit <br /> • picturefor the new warehouse operation. He also said the insurance <br /> carried on the Apache operation had not been settled yet and could also <br /> affect the final figures . <br />
