-3- Motion carried unanimously. • A number of questions were raised related to the temporary 3. 2 beer permit requested for the LeDoux's Corner N.E. softball tournament to be held in Central Park, August 11th and 12th, for which $200 a day in rental fees were to be charged. Motion' by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Mayor Sundland to table action on the application for a temporary 3. 2 beer permit from Thomas Brama for the softball tournament to be held August 11th and 12th, until staff has investigated further the applicant's home address and whether the applicant proposed the sale of beer. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Councilman Ranallo and seconded by Councilman Enrooth to approve payment .of all verified claims listed for May 31, 1984 in the May 22 , 1984 Council agenda, as well as $1, 393.65 to Dorsey & Whitney for legal services during April, 1984 . Motion carried unanimously.- Councilman Ranallo indicated he was very encouraged to see the City ' s Marketing Committee would be looking into ways of aiding young families to purchase homes in St. Anthony. He was also pleased to find that the Committee intends to cooperate in the grand reopening of the Silver • Lake Mall (,Apache Plaza) and it was noted that the garden clubs would be workingwith the mall management to improve the aesthetics of the area around the center. Councilman Enrooth reported attending a recent meeting of the Silver Lake Home. Owners Association at the. Salvatioh Army campgrounds and said he perceives- the lake to be a real asset to the City, one which may have previously been overlooked. The Councilman indicated there had been a great deal of discussion about the misuse of the lake and a Columbia Heights Police Officer who was in attendance had told the residents their complaints about racing boats , etc. , should be directed to either the Ramsey or Anoka County Sheriff 's -.Offices . The Mayor said he had investigated and found Ramsey County is responsible for policing the lake and had suggested to them that it might be beneficial to have the water patrol to make an occasional appearance on the lake . Councilman Makowske said she had received a call related to the City 's Channel 11 T.V. advertising for the new liquor warehouse which the caller had termed as "very tasteless Ray Nelson had received many complimentary comments about the same television spot, according to the Manager.
