Brief discussion preceded the orders to file the following: <br /> 1 . Hance & LeVahn, Ltd. report regarding matters conducted at the <br /> Hennepin County District Court up to and including May 3 , 1989 . <br /> 2 . Police Reserves April 1989 Report. <br /> 3 . Liquor Operations April 1989 Sales Summary. <br /> Council Member Makowske expressed thanks to the Reserves for their <br /> time. <br /> Acting City Manager VanderHeyden responded to a question posed by <br /> Council Member at the last City Council meeting, explaining that <br /> incidents listed at the bottom of the Police Reserves Report with no <br /> numbers are incidents which did not occur. <br /> ACTING CITY MANAGER <br /> Staff Meeting Notes - May 16 , 1989 <br /> Acting City Manager VanderHeyden reported that Public Works Director <br /> Larry Hamer is currently working with the Rice Creek Watershed District <br /> • (of which Silver Lake is a part) which is trying to get a grant from <br /> the State of Minnesota to study the water quality of the District in <br /> cooperation with Columbia Heights and New Brighton. <br /> Landscaping Around the St. Anthony Village Sign <br /> Acting City Manager VanderHeyden reported that a landscape plan for the <br /> area around the St . Anthony Village sign has been obtained by the <br /> Gardener ' s Club and is included in the Council packet . The money for <br /> that project would come from the Beautification Fund, the source of <br /> which is recycling. <br /> Acting City Manager VanderHeyden noted that approval by the Council of <br /> the expenditure was not required, but that such approval would lend <br /> formal support to the project . <br /> Motion by Marks , seconded by Ranallo, to approve expenditure 'of $998 . 02 <br /> to the Gardener ' s Club to plant shrubs , trees , etc . necessary for <br /> landscaping around the St. Anthony Village sign; the Gardener ' s Club to <br /> assist the Public Works Department in planting. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> City of St. Anthony Insurance Package <br /> Mark Flaten, American Risk Services , introduced the St. Anthony <br /> insurance policy for its annual review, and distributed copies of the <br /> 6/1/89-90 renewal package to the Council . <br /> He reviewed the history of the City ' s insurance policies , including the <br />
