5
the ex.istirg sign. 1:o concern was expressed by the
Comanission regarding the size or location of the southeast
entrance sign.
Commissioner Wagner reported that the Commission was opposed
to the lettering on the reader board facing the drive-in
traffic behind the bank. Although the lettering is on the
back of a directional sign, it was felt by the Commission
that the reader board constituted an additional sign and that
it required a variance, and recommended that the lettering be
removed.
Donavon Fisher of Firstar St. Anthony Bark protested the
Planning Commission' s impression that the bank was unfairly
pressuring the Commission to recommend variance by purchasing
the sign in advance of variance approval . He stated that the
bank had been informed that approval was granted by former
City tanager Childs.
Acting City Manager VanaerHeyden calculated that the bank was
still well within their limit for total sign square footage
even with the reader board lettering.
• Council Action
':y Makcwske, seconded by Canallo, to approve the
request of St . Anthony national Bark to place a second 14 . 25
square foot identification sign replacing an existing 5.25
square foot sign on the southe=ast wall near the front
entrance.
Motion carried unanimously.
Coldwell Banker Comnercial , St .
