SI REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
2 NOVEMBER 26 , 1991
3 PAGE 9
4
5
6 when she fell ill at Apache Plaza where she was employed.
7 The Mayor felt this was incorrect as she was attended by
8 emergency personnel from the City of St . Anthony . City
9 staff saved her, hospital staff took care of her . The
10 City Manager will review the report on record.
11
12 The Mayor advised the Councilmembers that at the first
13 Council meeting in January some decisions must be made
-14 regarding appointments , banking facilities for the City,
15 official newspaper designation, Mayor Pro-tem selection
16 etc . He requested all members of the Council to give each
17 of these decisions some consideration.
18
19 About 400 people attended the Paul Todd Show which was a
20 fundraiser for the City ' s D.A.R. E. Program. The Mayor
21 observed that very few residents , of the City were in
22 attendance at the concert .
23
24 Donations were received from the St . Anthony Kiwanis ,
2.5 Tri-City American Legion, the Eagles Club, Chandler
26 Place, Firstar St . Anthnony Bank, St . Anthony Chamber of
•27 Commerce, the Lions Club and the Sports Boosters .
28
29 Staff and members of the City Council sold a significant
30 number of tickets as did Students Against Drunk Driving.
31 The Mayor felt for a first-time fundraising experience
32 for the City it was very successful .
33
34 Report of Councilmember Wagner
35
36 On November 14th Councilmember Wagner attended a panel
37 discussion of the Municipal Trust Fund. This fund was to
38 receive its funding from the additional half percent
39 sales tax approved by metropolitan counties .
40
41 On the panel was Representative Andy Dawkins , a
42 representative of the Legislative Auditor ' s office, State
43 Treasurer ' s office, Don Slater, LMC Executive Director
44 and Dorothy McClung.
45
46 Councilmember Wagner felt the panel was very direct with
47 their comments and observations regarding the Trust Fund.
48 It was stated it may be a very long time before a
49 distribution policy is developed as the Legislature has
50 taken no action yet . Some cities are working on a
51 distribution program but counties have taken no action.
52 Funds are to be received by both cities and counties .
53
54
54
