MAPCH 10 , 1992
3 PAGE 7
4
5
6 This annual review had been in place with a business
7 which previously operated amusement devices in Apache
° Plaza .
4
10 Marks inquired what the Planning Commission recommended
11 for action if there were problems generated by these
12 devices .
13
14 Commissioner Murphy responded that he had made a similar
15 inquiry at the Planning Commission meeting. _It was
16 determined that if the annual review reflected continued
17 troublesome activity the conditional use permit could be
18 revoked as could the licenses for the amusement devices .
, 9
20 "hE City Manacer felt it would be rather difficult to
21 re•.oke a conditional use permit but probably be easier to
22 revoke a permit .
2{
24 Marks inquired if .a one year time limit could be place
25 on the conditional use permit for better control_ . The
2ECity Manager felt this was a possibility and had been
`7 done with a previous conditional use permit issued for a
8 business in Apache Plaza .
29
e 1 h a e cause" had to b= shoN:
30 T:^.a Mayor r cal ed that 'prob b_ ..
31 to take this action and this could never done
3_ satisfactorily .
33
34 Commissioner Murphy noted that much frustration was
35 experienced by the owner of the Malt Shop with the lack
36 of coopertion from the shopping mall security personnel .
3
=S The City Manager stated that the Police Chief has
39 indicated he will most likely have to alter the patrol
40 schedule to accommodate more patrolling rounds of the
41 area if this. request is approved.
42
43 Wagner inquired what the mix of amusement devices would
44 be. Commissioner Murphy responded that Mr . Alwan intends
45 to have eight kiddie rides with the remainder being video
46 games . All of the video games will be in the back area of
47 the establishment according to the sketchy floor plan
45 submitted by the owner . It was noted that the remodelling
49 indicated on the site plan is not yet done .
5^
51 Wagner noted that video games focus on teenagers ar:d
52 inquired what age group the amuser.ent devices is intended
103 to attract .
4
