Citizens are being requested to pause on June 14th <br /> 8 at 6: 00 p.m. to recognize this event . <br /> 9 <br /> 10 The League of Minnesota Cities Annual Conference starts on <br /> 11 Tuesday, June 9th . This is the date of the regular Council <br /> 12 Meeting. The Mayor suggested the date be changed to June 2nd. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Motion by Marks , second by Wagner to change the first Regular <br /> 15 Council meeting in June_ to June 2 , 1992 . <br /> 16 <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 19 <br /> 20 <br /> 21 The City Manager requested that those Councilmembers who plan <br /> 22 to attend the League of Minnesota Cities Conference let him <br /> 23 know as soon as possible so the early registration discount <br /> 24 can be gotten . <br /> 25 <br /> 26 <br /> 27 B. Report of the City Manager <br /> 10 <br /> 30 1 . Sheik ' s Garden Restaurant Conditional Use Permit <br /> 31 <br /> 32 The City Manager reviewed the history of this request . He <br /> 33 noted that there were some new conditions placed on <br /> 34 granting of the conditional use permit by the Planning <br /> 35 Commission in its recommendation for approval . <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Approval of locating twenty-three . amusement devices is <br /> 38 still the request . The original request was for thirty- <br /> 39 three amusement devices . <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Howard Knutson , a resident of Burnsville. and a friend and <br /> 42 legal counsel to the owner of Sheik' s Garden Restaurant , <br /> 43 advised the Council he is supportive of approving the <br /> 44 request . He again stated that the owner, Mr . Alwan, is <br /> 45 focusing on operating an establishment which would <br /> 46 attract families . It is Mr. Alwan ' s intention to monitor <br /> 4.7 the behavior of those using the amusement devices very <br /> 48 closely. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 Marks observed that the present proposal is identical to <br /> 51 the original one which would not allow pool tables on the <br /> 52 premises , decreased the number of amusement devices and <br /> was in agreement for an annual review with the owner , the <br /> C.ity Manager and. the Police Chief . <br />
