I REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> NOVEMBER 10 , 1992 <br /> PAGE 4 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Report of Councilmember Wagner <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Councilmember Wagner attended the Community Service <br /> 9 Advisory Council meeting. . He noted that two members of <br /> 10 the Athletic Sports Boosters made the organization ' s <br /> 11 presentation . for upgrade of Central Park. He felt this <br /> 12 proposal was more realistic in its content . <br /> 13 <br /> 14 At this time, the Sports Boosters are focusing on only <br /> 15- the School District ' s portion of' Central Park which will <br /> 16 include the football field, the -track and the soccer <br /> 17 fields . They do not propose changing the configuration of <br /> 18 the park as it presently is . They have hired the services <br /> 19 of an architect and engineer . <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Members of the Advisory Council concurred in accepting <br /> 22 the funds for the School District ' s portion of the park . <br /> 23 The School Board ' s representative to the Advisory Council <br /> 24 felt the School Board would accept the proposal also. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Councilmember Wagner attended the Apache Merchants <br /> 7 Association meeting. He noted that Dennis Cavanaugh <br /> reported there are still a couple of contingencies <br /> between CUB and Apache Corporation to be finalized. He <br /> 30 also advised that a craft store and a video store may be <br /> 31 locating in the shopping center. The entire CUB store <br /> 32 facility will be 87 , 000 square feet . <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Report of Councilmember Fleming <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Councilmember Fleming advised she is not presently <br /> 37 representing the City on any committees and stated her <br /> 38 availability. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 The Mayor suggested that Councilmember Fleming could <br /> 41 represent the City on the Chamber of Commerce Board of <br /> 42 Directors . The present board will change in six months <br /> 43 and continuity should be considered. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Councilmember Enrooth inquired if Councilmember Fleming <br /> 46 attends Chamber meetings . She replied that she does . He <br /> 47 suggested she could also attend Board meetings as they <br /> 48 are open to all members . <br /> 49 <br /> 50 <br /> • <br />
