Report of Councilmember Wagner <br /> 23 Councilmember Wagner noted he will be unable to attend the <br /> 24 next meeting of the Ramsey County League of Local Government <br /> 10 as it. is in conflict with the DARE Program which he plans to <br /> attend. <br /> 27- <br /> 28 <br /> 29 2 . Report of Councilmember Fleming <br /> 30 Councilmember Fleming attended the recent meeting of the <br /> 31 Northwest Youth and Family Services Bureau. She advised the <br /> 32 issue of a Human Rights Commission was discussed with the <br /> 33 theme of "Reflect Respect . " <br /> 34 <br /> 35 The City of Maplewood has a Human Rights Commission which <br /> 36 consists of seven members and meets monthly. It ' s focus is <br /> 37 that there are acknowledged problems with race and bigotry and <br /> 38 that these problems should be addressed both through the City <br /> 39 and the School District . <br /> 40 <br /> 41 She attended a meeting where Roger Wilkins was the guest <br /> 42 speaker and his speech addressed the setting of a new civil <br /> 43 rights agenda. Councilmember Fleming observed no other elected <br /> 44 officials in attendance. She also attended a workshop on <br /> 45 criminal justice. She found it interesting that the most <br /> 46 expensive building :�to be built in Minnesota is a jail. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 <br /> 49 3 .
