Report of Mayor Ranallo <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Mayor Ranallo had nothing to report at this time. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 B. Report of City Manager <br /> 11 <br /> 12 1 . Drilling on Rankin Road <br /> 13 The City Manager advised that Keys Drilling Company is <br /> 14 back working on Rankin Road. This is necessary as the <br /> 15 equipment they previously had at this site did not go <br /> 16 deep enough. They -are endeavoring to go deep to check the <br /> 17 total contamination. There was also a cave in experienced <br /> 18 at the site. It is anticipated the equipment will remain <br /> 19 on Rankin Road for another thirty days or more. When the <br /> 20 project is completed the debris and dirt will be cleaned <br /> 21 up by the company. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 2 . Neighborhood Meeting - Silver Lake <br /> 24 Representatives of St . Anthony, Columbia Heights, New <br /> 25 Brighton and the Rice Creek Watershed District will meet <br /> 26 to discuss Silver Lake. <br /> IQ The Columbia Heights Public Works Director advised he <br /> 29 will pursue the installation of a holding pond -which will <br /> 30 be done by city crews . <br /> 31 <br /> 32 The New Brighton Public Works Director stated there is <br /> 33 some activity regarding the resolution of sedimentation <br /> 34 storage problems and the Wexford Heights development will <br /> 35 be assessed. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 It was noted that New Brighton has approved a 30 mph <br /> 38 speed limit on Silver Lake Road. MnDOT wants a 45 mph <br /> 39 speed limit . <br /> 40 <br /> 41 A letter has been sent to Dennis Cavanaugh of the C. G. <br /> 42 Rein Company, who owns Apache Plaza, regarding the <br /> 43 drainage problems being experienced on the 53 acres of <br /> 44 this shopping mall and on some of the surrounding areas . <br /> 45 <br /> 46 It was originally the intention of this company to <br /> 47 address problems only on five acres . Some parking spaces <br /> 48 can be used for holding ponds if necessary. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 Mayor Ranallo inquired as to the costs of these ponds. <br /> • <br />
