REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 13 , 1993 3 PAGE 7 4 5 6 The City Manager responded that the costs have not been 7 determined as the designs are not done. 8 9 The City Manager stated he will be meeting in the near 10 future with representatives of Super Valu and of Apache 11 Plaza. It is felt that the CUB store will open in June, 12 1994 . 13 14 Some members of the Council expressed their concerns with 15 the delays involved with the CUB project . 16 17 The Mayor requested that the City Manager include the 18 issue of the CUB store project on the agenda of the April 19 27th City Council meeting. He wants this on record so if 20 the project is not developed the City Council will bear 21 no blame. He also requested that a representative of 22 Super Valu be in attendance at this meeting to address 23 the concerns expressed. 24 25 The City Manager felt some of the delay is due to the need to draft many documents , relocate tenants already in Apache Plaza and complete the numerous plans required by 28 this project . 29 30 Some members of the Council also noted there have been 31 some comments in the community which reflect doubt that 32 this project will materialize. It is a highly visible 33 project . 34 35 C. Unocal Service Station 36 37 Steven Berndt , legal counsel for the owners of St . Anthony 38 Unocal , was present at the Council Meeting to discuss his 39 clients ' concern regarding the development plan for the south 40 end of the City. His clients own two parcels. On one of these 41 parcels the service station is located. It has been understood 42 that access to the service station off of 27th Avenue is being 43 closed. Presently, there are three access areas on 27th 44 Avenue. 45 46 Roger Bona, the owner of the service station , has hired a 47 planner. He indicated his willingness to discuss his plans for 48 his property with staff . He did advise he feels he needs 49 access to 27th Avenue to effectively operate his business . 50 •
