Report of the City Manager <br /> 10 <br /> 11 A. St . Charles Marathon <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Mayor Ranallo advised that the Marathon will require a minimum <br /> 14 of twenty adult volunteers from St . Charles . The City Manager <br /> 15 stated the Police Reserves will be stationed at the <br /> 16 intersection where the runners/bikers/walkers cross Silver <br /> 17 Lake Road . <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Motion by Fleming, second by Marks to approve the request from <br /> 20 St . Charles Church to hold its annual marathon on October 2 , <br /> 21 1993 from 9 : 00 a .m. until Noon . <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 24 <br /> 25 B. CUB Update <br /> 0 Ms. Joan Ahrens , representing Super Valu Stores and Dennis <br /> 28 Cavanaugh , representing the C . G. Rein Company, who owns <br /> 29 Apache Plaza , were at the Council Meeting to answer questions . <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Mr . Cavanaugh advised he recently received the development <br /> 32 agreement forms from the City ' s legal counsel , Dorsey & <br /> 33 Whitney and the Springsted Financial Advisors . He expects- to <br /> 34 have these forms completed by the end of the -week . <br /> 35 <br /> 36 The City Manager advised there are some items yet to complete <br /> 37 which include an updated water quality study and demolition <br /> 38 plans for certain parts of Apache Plaza . Barr Engineering has <br /> 39 been hired to do the water quality study. The City Manager <br /> 40 anticipates all of the agreements and details will be <br /> 41 completed within forty-five days . <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Councilmember Marks inquired as to the opening date for the <br /> 44 CUB Store . Ms . Ahrens responded the groundbreaking is <br /> 45 scheduled for Spring 1994 and the opening date should be in <br /> 46 the fall of 1994 . She noted that all parties involved have <br /> 47 been working on this project diligently. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 The City Manager felt going into the bond market at this time <br /> 50 was advantageous . <br /> • <br />
