Resolution No 93-043 , Re: Approval of Engineering <br /> 7 Services for 1994 Street Construction Improvements <br /> 8 <br /> 9 The City Manager advised this resolution will authorize a <br /> 10 continuance of the street construction improvements which are <br /> 11 presently being done this year . He reviewed the 1994 program <br /> 12 and the progress on the 1993 work. 'He referred to the Project <br /> 13 Schedule prepared by the engineering firm doing the project . <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Motion by Marks , second by Wagner to adopt Resolution No. 93- <br /> 16 43 being a resolution approving Maier Stewart & Associates , <br /> 17 Inc . as engineers for the 1994 street construction <br /> 18 improvements . <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 21 <br /> 22 D. Establishing Public Hearing for Vacating Portions of <br /> 23 Coolidge Street <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Motion by Marks , second by Enrooth to establish August 10 , <br /> 1993 at 7 : 00 p.m. as a public hearing date for discussing <br /> vacating portions of Coolidge Street Northeast lying within <br /> 28 Lots 1 and 2 , Block 1 of First Addition to the Village of <br /> 29 St .Anthony . <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 32 <br /> 33 <br /> 34 E. Future Planning Strategies <br /> 35 <br /> 36 Mayor Ranallo requested this item be added to the Council <br /> 37 agenda . His feelings. are that the Council should do some <br /> 38 planning for the future of the Village rather than wait until <br /> 39 issues need immediate attention . <br /> 40 <br /> 41 The Mayor cites examples of the "Walgreen ' s Store" and the <br /> 42 "Clark Station" issues which were not anticipated. The Council <br /> 43 was put into a situation which it must react rather than <br /> 44 respond. He felt if policies and planning were in place these <br /> 45 types of situations could be better addressed. Long range <br /> 46 planning is being done in other communities and the Mayor <br /> 47 feels this is beneficial . <br /> 48 <br /> 49 The City Manager noted that the City' s comprehensive plan <br /> 50 should be reviewed and updated <br />
