REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> AUGUST 10 , 1993 <br /> 3 PAGE 5 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Motion by Fleming, second by Wagner to approve the variance <br /> 7 petition of Mary McCrossan, 3019 31st Avenue, as no one <br /> 8 appeared to speak against the request , the three conditions <br /> 9 for granting a variance were fulfilled and the following <br /> 10 conditions must be met ; the garage exterior must be upgraded <br /> 11 to match the newly-built house and the garage must be upgraded <br /> 12 structurally if the Building Inspector finds any deficiencies. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 15 <br /> 16 3 . Setback Variance ReQuest - Michael & Kay -Baker, 3044 <br /> 17 Croft Drive <br /> 18 <br /> 19 This variance is for sixteen feet from the thirty foot setback <br /> 20 requirement . The lot at 3044 Croft Drive is a corner lot which <br /> 21 requires a thirty foot setback rather than the requirement of <br /> 22 other lots which is fifteen feet . <br /> 23 <br /> 24 Commissioner Faust advised there was a concern regarding <br /> 25 traffic sight lines at the intersection adjacent to this lot . <br /> It was noted that staff regularly reviews these types of <br /> 46 situations and this can be corrected if necessary. It will be <br /> 28 -- re-visited after the construction is complete. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Motion by Wagner, second by Fleming to approve the setback <br /> 31- variance request of Michael and Kay Baker for 3044 Croft Drive <br /> 32 for sixteen feet of the thirty foot sideyard setback <br /> 33 requirement to allow the addition of seven feet with the <br /> 34 following conditions: the existing stucco would be done <br /> 35 entirely throughout the home for uniformity and the existing <br /> 36 gravel driveway would be upgraded to asphalt or cement ; no one <br /> 37 appeared to speak against the request ; the three conditions <br /> 38- required by Minnesota Statutes were met and noting that there <br /> 39 is a thirty foot setback instead of a fifteen foot setback; <br /> 40 and , the style of .the house with a tuck-under garage <br /> 41- constitutes extraordinary circumstances . <br /> 42 <br /> 43- <br /> 44 Motion carried unanimously <br /> 45 <br /> 4 6:: <br /> 47 B Council Reports <br /> 48 <br /> 49 Report of Councilmember Wagner <br /> 50 <br />
