City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> • November 12, 1996 <br /> Page 3 <br /> 1 Marks reported he had recently toured the new City Hall/Community Center building. He noted <br /> 2 the inside of the building was coming along nicely and there was incredible,opportunities for the <br /> 3 front entryway. <br /> 4 Marks also commented that the joint Planning Commission/City Council Meeting had been <br /> 5 successful. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 B. Mayor, <br /> 8 Mayor,Ranallo stated he felt Bill Weber had done an exceptional job of facilitating the joint <br /> 9 Planning Commission/City Council Meeting. <br /> 10 Mayor Ranallo asked if the Council Chamber in the new City Hall/Community Center would <br /> 11 have a raised floor. City Manager Mornson stated he would check on this. <br /> 12 Mayor Ranallo reported he had received several derogatory calls in regard to the color of the <br /> 13 brick on the new building. <br /> 14 Mayor Ranallo questioned the location of the sign which was being erected on the east edge of <br /> 15 the Salvation Army Camp property. There was City Council direction for Staff to verify the <br /> location of the fence. <br /> 17 Mayor Ranallo reported his attendance at a Cable Meeting last Thursday. Meredith Cable <br /> 18 Company has completed the sale to Continental. Continental has completed the sale to U.S. <br /> 19 West and U.S. West has received FCC approval. The Cable Commission is in the process of <br /> 20 checking the legality of the situation. Mayor Ranallo noted the rates will be increasing by <br /> 21 approximately $2.00 per month. <br /> 22 Mayor Ranallo reported he had received a nice letter from Pastor Dennis Alexandria of the Faith <br /> 23 United Methodist Church. Pastor Alexandria stated he appreciated the efforts of the City <br /> 24 Council and City Staff and was excited about the new City Hall. He stated the people of Faith <br /> 25 United Methodist Church would be happy to assist with the grand opening celebration. <br /> 26 C. City Manager. <br /> 27 1. Discussion of Comprehensive Plan Task Force. <br /> 28 City Manager Mornson reported the Planning Commission has requested City Council consider <br /> 29 some candidates for representatives on the Comprehensive Plan Task Force. Mornson reported- <br /> 30 <br /> eported30 the School Board has appointed Kim Johnson as their representative. <br /> 31 There was Council suggestion that a member of the Chamber of Commerce be appointed to <br /> 32 represent the Retail/Commercial area, a member of the Healthy Community/Healthy Youth <br /> Committee be appointed to represent the Church area, and that Jeanette Soley be appointed to . <br /> represent the Realtor area(as she is a Realtor who lives in the City of St. Anthony). Enrooth <br /> 35 stated he would discuss this possibility with Ms. Soley. <br />
