City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> December 18, 1996 <br /> S Page 2 <br /> 1 VII. PRESENTATION OF CLAIMS. <br /> 2 Motion by Marks, second by Wagner to approve the following claims: <br /> 3 <br /> 4 A. BRW.Inc. in the amount of$990.00 for professional services rendered for the period <br /> 5 ending October 31, 1996 for the City of St. Anthony Comprehensive Plan. <br /> 6 B. Dorsey& Whitney in the amount of$993.58 for legal services rendered through October <br /> 7 31, 1996. <br /> 8 C. Foster, Ojile. Wentzell & Brever in the amount of$2,600.00 for professional services <br /> 9 rendered for the month of December, 1996. <br /> 10 D. 6 pages of Verifie&Claims aspresented by the Finance Director. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 13 VIII. REPORTS. <br /> 14 A. Councilmembers. <br /> 15 Councilmember Enrooth.reported his attendance at the National League of Cities Meeting in San <br /> 16 Antonio, Texas. Alvin Tofler, author of the book entitled Third Wave,was the kick off speaker <br /> 17 at the meeting. Enrooth suggested all Councilmembers read his book. Enrooth reported a large <br /> portion of the meeting was focused on the information age and Internet with ''/z day spent on web <br /> page sites, city links and interlink connections. He stated it was a very informative meeting. <br /> 20 Councilmember Marks reported the St. Anthony Orchestra will be performing Friday, December <br /> 21 20, 1996 at Apache Plaza. <br /> 22 Marks noted there is still a problem with the sidewalks being plowed on the 37th Avenue bridge. <br /> 23 He stated he had contacted the engineer in charge at Ramsey County but noted he had received a <br /> 24 report that there was a problem again tonight. Marks stated he hoped this issue could be resolved <br /> 25 soon. <br /> 26 Marks reported he received a letter from a brass band in Salo, Finland who would like to visit St. <br /> 27 Anthony. They are anticipating 25 people will come along with some politicians. The Sister <br /> 28 City Committee will begin to organize the visit and work to determine how the brass band would <br /> 29 like to handle their concerts. <br /> 30 Councilmember Wagner noted there will be free sleigh rides Friday, December 20, 1996 from <br /> 31 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the St. Anthony Shopping Center. <br /> 32 Wagner reported the coordinator that Healthy Community/Healthy Youth had hoped to hire is <br /> 33 not available. The Committee is now working on an alternate plan to hire someone with less <br /> experience who could work with the coordinator they had wanted to hire on a minimal basis. <br /> 10 The process is moving forward. <br />
