e. <br /> City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> • April 8, 1997 <br /> Page 6 <br /> 1 Morrison reported Staff is currently working on the 1998 budget proposal and the final <br /> 2 Capital Equipment Budget. Mornson reported the City recently offered 5 hours of <br /> 3 sexual harassment training. There was 100% participation except for 5 liquor store <br /> 4 employees. Morrison also noted union negotiations will begin shortly. <br /> 5 17. Tires Plus Meeting - April 3, 1997 <br /> 6 Morrison reported he had met with the Tires Plus owner who is'very positive and <br /> 7 happy to be a tenant of the City. The City Attorney has been in contact with Braun <br /> 8 Engineering who has forwarded a letter stating that `.`The Minnesota Pollution Control <br /> 9 Agency issued a leaksite file closure (meaning they will not require any further <br /> 10 investigation)on May 4, 1995 for this site." It has been suggested that an association <br /> 11 letter be obtained but this will cost $2,000 to $3,000 and will take 2-3 months to <br /> 12 obtain and possibly will not be necessary. <br /> 13 Morrison reported there has been discussion in regard to the Tires Plus roof with the <br /> 14 roofing contractor who previously was working with First Bank. He has stated that <br /> 15 the roof needs to be replaced in its entirety at a cost of$75,000. There is also an <br /> 16 inspection on the rust in the building. <br /> 7 <br /> Morrison noted OPUS has a potential buyer for a pad lot at Apache Plaza. There is a <br /> possibility that the interested party could buy the Tires Plus building and the City <br /> 19 could purchase the pad lot. Mornson presented the cost figures of the two different <br /> 20 options. <br /> 21 There was Council consensus for City Manager to continue moving forward with the <br /> 22 Tires Plus lot and explore the pad lot. <br /> 23 VIII. PUBLIC HEARINGS - None. <br /> 24 IX. NEW BUSINESS - None. <br /> 25 X.
