City Council Regular Meeting Minutes
June 24, 1997
• Page 2
Temporary 3.2 Beer Permit:
August 24, 1997/Family Picnic/Roxanne Stark Family/Central Park
Vote on the motion: Ranallo, Enrooth, Faust, and Wagner voted aye. Marks voted naye.
Motion carried.
A. Kimberly Caplan, Permit to Paint House Numbers on Curbs.
Kimberly Caplan, 3405 31st Avenue NE, stated she was an undergraduate student at the
University of Colorado who was home for the summer and was trying to find work to help
pay for school. She noted she has diminished hearing on the left and none on the right and is
seeking a job that requires a minimal amount of communication. She then gave Mayor
Ranallo the flyer she was planning to distribute.
Mayor Ranallo noted the flyer advertised the painting of five inch tall black letters on a white
background for $5.00. This numbering would allow easy viewing of an address by police and
fire vehicles. If the customer is not satisfied, the painting will be redone. The flyer asked
that if interested, the homeowner fill out the flyer and tape it on their door the next day.
Marks noted that in the past the City has encouraged this identification on the street so
Wemergency vehicles can get to problems as quickly as possible.
Wagner noted there are a lot of existing street identification numbers which need repainting.
Faust asked if Ms. Caplan was aware of the size requirements for the numbering per the City
Ordinance.
Mayor Ranallo stated the Public Works Director had explained the requirements to Ms.
Caplan.
Motion by Marks, second by Wagner to approve a permit to allow Kimberly Caplan to solicit
and paint house numbers on the curbs in the City of St. Anthony.
Motion carried unanimously.
VI.
