Three pages of Verified Claims as presented by the Finance Director. <br /> 23 Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 24 VII. REPORTS. <br /> 25 A. Proclamation Declaring September 24, 1999 as Kiwanis Peanut Day. <br /> 26 Mayor Ranallo introduced Mr. Dick Johnson and Mr. Dave Abramson as representatives of the <br /> 27 Kiwanis organization. Mr. Johnson stated that the Kiwanis are preparing for the organization's <br /> 28 premier fundraising event. He reviewed for the Council that, during the year, Kiwanis distributes <br /> 29 $15,000 to programs and organizations, and donates hundreds of hours of volunteer time. <br /> 30 Kiwanis is currently focusing on building assets for the children and community. In this respect, <br /> 31 Kiwanis has donated $3,000 to the IDD (Iodine Deficiency Disorder)fund. On September 24, <br /> 32 1999, members from the Kiwanis organization will be selling peanuts as a fundraiser and the <br /> 33 community is encouraged to participate. Mr. Johnson reminded the Council that the television <br /> 34 program "20/20" would soon be hosting a special on the IDD program. <br /> 35 Motion by Cavanaugh, second by Marks, to approve the Proclamation designating Friday, <br /> 36 September 24, 1999 as St. Anthony Kiwanis Peanut Day. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br />
