Regular City Council Meeting Minutes, December 16, 1999 2 Motion by Sparks to approve the Consent Agenda for the January 11, 2000 Regular City Council 3 Meeting. 4 Motion carried unanimously. 5 In considering the approval of the December 16, 1999 Truth in Taxation Hearing Minutes, and 6 the Regular City Council Meeting Minutes of December 16,_1999, Cavanaugh suggested-that 7 those Councilmembers not in attendance at that meeting abstain from voting. 8 Motion by Thuesen, second by Cavanaugh, to approve the Truth in Taxation Hearing Minutes 9 from December 16, 1999. 10 Voting on the Motion: Thuesen, Cavanaugh voted aye. Sparks, Horst abstained. 11 The motion carried. 12 Motion by Thuesen, second by Cavanaugh, to approve the Regular City Council Meeting Minutes from December 16, 1999. 14 Voting; on the Motion: Thuesen, Cavanaugh voted aye. Sparks, Horst abstained. 15 The motion carried. 16 VII. PUBLIC HEARINGS. 17 None. 18 VIII. GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL. 19 A. Set Date and Time for Board of Review. 20 City Manager Michael Mornson explained that the City is required by law to annually set a date 21 for the local Board of Review. After discussions with the Assessor's office, Morrison would rec- 22 ommend that the Board of Review take place at the regular Council meeting on April 11, 2000 at 23 7:00 p.m. Additionally, the Assessor is scheduled to attend the March 14, 2000 Council meeting 24 in order to provide the Council with a brief synopsis as well as a booklet of sales ratios for the 25 area. 26 Horst inquired if the Board of Review meeting would be suitable for a worksession. Morrison re- 27 sponded that the Board of Review meeting in prior years was not on cable television, and he an- 28 ticipated that this was a good opportunity to televise the meeting in conjunction with the regular Council meeting.
