CALL TO ORDER. <br /> 6 Mayor Cavanaugh called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br /> 7 II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br /> 8 Mayor Cavanaugh invited the Council and the audience to join in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 III. ROLL CALL. <br /> 11 Councilmembers present: Mayor Cavanaugh; Councilmembers Thuesen, Horst and Hodson <br /> 12 Councilmembers absent: Amy Sparks <br /> 13 Also present: City Manager Michael Mornson; City Attorney William Soth. <br /> 14 IV. APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 12,2000 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING <br /> 15 AGENDA. <br /> 16 Motion by Hodson to approve the September 12, 2000 City Council Regular Meeting Agenda as <br /> 17 presented. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 19 V. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br /> 20 A. Proclamation Declaring Kiwanis"Peanut DU'. <br /> 21 Mayor Cavanaugh noted that the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony is an organization dedicated to <br /> 22 helping community youths educationally and spiritually and in order to raise funds for its-many <br /> 23 and varied programs,the Kiwanis Club of St. Anthony has requested a day be set aside in St. <br /> 24 Anthony Village for the sale of peanuts. <br /> 25 Therefore, it was resolved that the St. Anthony City Council hereby designates Friday, <br /> 26 September 22, 2000, as St. Anthony Kiwanis.Peanut Day. <br /> 27 VI. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br /> 28 Cavanaugh announced that Councilmember Horst, through a local article, had invited members <br /> 29 of the community to express opinions.regarding the recent Council decision to deny the Apache <br /> 30 Plaza redevelopment. <br /> 31 In that respect, Cavanaugh invited members of the audience to address the Council. <br /> 32 Sue Kozarek, 4029 Shamrock Drive, would like to request that the Councilmembers reconsider <br /> 33 the vote against Apache Plaza. She read a prepared statement and noted that the Apache Plaza <br /> has been in decline since the tornado many years ago. She is confused why the decision was <br /> made against Apache Plaza because the City'-had hired consultants that were in favor of the Plan, <br /> 36_ a recognized developer, as well as the approval of the Council-approved Planning Commission. <br />
