South <br /> Hopkins, Minnesota 55343 <br />• � tiNE S° <br /> HENNEPIN <br /> Li Li 935-3381 November 14, 1983 <br /> TTY-935-6433 <br /> j <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE SM=ON AMID PURCHASE OF <br /> THE WEST HIMMnAlft SITE FOR A SOLID W1 = RESOURCE R COVM FACILITY <br /> The Public Service Committee of the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners will <br /> hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. , Monday, November 28, 1983 in the Board Roan of <br /> the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 South Sixth Street, Minneapolis, <br /> Minnesota, on the above-referenced subject. <br /> The West Riverbank site, which is approximately 17 acres in size, is located on <br /> the west bank of the Mississippi River between 33rd Avenue North and 36th Avenue <br /> North. <br /> The County Board has approved, as a concept, the construction of an up to 2000 <br /> ton-per-day resource recovery facility, utilizing the West Riverbank site. A task <br /> force, consisting of County Board members and Minneapolis City Council members, <br /> after analyzing various sites for a resource recovery plant and considering <br /> criteria such as access, cost, pollution control, emissions, environmental <br /> factors, soil suitability and proximity to energy markets, recommended the use of <br /> the West Riverbank site. <br /> Enclosed with this mailing is a copy of the press release, dated November 10th, <br /> and a copy of the resolution adopted by the Public Service Committee on November <br /> 10th establishing the public hearing. <br /> For information on the conduct of the public hearing or to ask to be put on a list <br /> to testify, please call Mary Ellen Hudson at 348-3168.
