If such license holder gives .notice to such keener of an intent <br /> to reclaim the dog before it is disposed of, the dog shall be kept <br /> available for reclaiming for 24 hours after receipt of such notice of <br /> intent to reclaim. The police shall furnish upon request to any such i <br /> keeper the record and list of all such licenses issued by this municipality <br /> during the current _year and the last previous license period. <br /> Subd. 2. Reclaiming From Pound. At such times as necessary, the <br /> City shall employ or contract with a person, persons or other organization <br /> for the purpose of capturing and conveying to a place of impounding all <br /> dogs not properly licensed, collared and tagged, and dogs and all other <br /> domesticated animals kept in violation of this Ordinance. All animals <br /> impounded shall be kept with kind treatment and sufficient food and water <br /> for their comfort, at least five regular_ business -days, unless sooner <br /> reclaimed by their owners, as herein provided. A dog or. other domesticated <br /> animal may be reclaimed upon payment by the license holder or owner of an <br /> impounding fee of $10.00 plus an amount equal to the current impounding <br /> fee schedule of the kennel or place employed for impounding purposes plus <br /> the cost of the food and care of the animal while impounded at the establish- <br /> ed rate which the City is required to pay plus any medical costs reasonably <br /> incurred while the animal was impounded. If a dog is unlicensed, the <br /> regular license fee shall be paid in addition to the foregoing amounts. <br /> Section 1010:30. Quarantine. If a dog or other animal within the corporate <br /> limits of this municipality bites any person, or is reported as diseased, the <br /> police shall, in the case of a bite, and may in all other cases, require that <br /> the dog or animal be impounded for observation for sufficient time to determine <br /> whether the dog or animal is diseased. No such dog or animal shall be killed <br /> or reclaimed and returned to the owner-until so ordered by the police. Any <br /> licensed dog or other animal may be reclaimed and returned to the owner without <br /> the payment of the impounding fee and cost of food and care while impounded. <br /> Any dog or other animal, impounded for having bitten a person or for actually <br /> being diseased, which is subsequently released by the police, may be reclaimed <br /> by its owner upon payment of the impounding fee, cost of food and care, and <br /> any medical cosh incurred while impounded. <br /> Section 1010:35. Disposition of 'Animals. At the expiration of five full <br /> regular business days from the time any animal is impounded, except in the <br /> case of an animal ordered held in quarantine for a longer period by the police, <br /> if the animal has not been reclaimed in accordance with Section 1010:25, Sub- <br /> division 2, the keeper of the place of impounding shall cause such animal-to <br /> be humanely killed and dispose of the remains thereof, or shall cause such <br /> dog to be sold, as abandoned and unclaimed by the owner, to any person, upon <br /> payment of a suan of money not less than the license fee and not more than the <br /> amount the owner would, have to pay to reclaim the dog. Notwithstanding the <br /> five-day limitation provided herein, and if the dog has not otherwise been <br /> disposed of, the owner or the owner's immediate family may reclaim the dog <br /> upon payment of the fees provided for in Section 1010:25, Subdivision 2. <br /> For purposes of this Section 1010:35 and Section 1010:25, "regular business <br /> day" means a day during which the establishment having custody of an animal <br /> is open to the public not less than four consecutive hours between the hours <br /> of 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. <br />
