Excen_t as <br /> otherwise hereinafter provided, no person shall kill or destroy :any dog, <br /> cat or,,other domesticated animal- found running at large within thecorporate <br /> limits of this municipality. <br /> Section 1010:05. Vicious and Diseased .Dogs -or Animals.. No person shall <br /> keep or suffer to be kept on their premises, or on premises occupied by them <br /> within the Village, nor permit nor suffer to .run at large in the Village, or in <br /> any street, alley or public place thereof, any dog or other domesticated animal <br /> of a ferocious or vicious character, habit or disposition. Any animal which is <br /> diseased, vicious, dangerous, rabid or exposed to rabies may be impounded and <br /> if it cannot be impounded without serious risk to the person attempting to <br /> impound the animal, it may be immediately killed by the police officers or <br /> other designated by the Manager. <br /> Section 1010:10. Running at Large Prohibited. No owner or keeper of any dog. <br /> cat or other domesticated animal shall permit such animal to be at large within <br /> the corporate limits of this municipality at any time, but shall at all times <br /> keep the animal under restraint. An animal is deemed "at large" whenever it <br /> is off the property of the owner or keeper and not under restraint. <br /> Section 1010:15. Animal Under Restraint. Anv animal which is off the <br /> property of its owner or keeper shall be kept under restraint and control of <br /> such person or other person authorized by the owner or keeper to have control <br /> of the animal. It shall be the responsibility of such owner, keeper, or <br /> • other person in control of said animal to clean up any droppings of the animal <br /> and 'to dispose of said droppings in a sanitary manner. <br /> Section 1010:20. Police Shall Impound. It shall be the duty of the police <br /> officers of this municipality or others designated by the_Manager to enforce <br /> the provisions of this Ordinance, and to impound animals kept within the <br /> corporate limits of this municipality or running at large contrary to the <br /> provisions of this Ordinance. <br /> Section 1010:25. Impounding: Notice and Reclaiming. <br /> Subd. 1. Notice of Impounding. When an animal is impounded at a <br /> kennel or other place employed for such purpose by the Council, the <br /> keeper of such kennel or place so employed shall within 24 hours thereof <br /> provide the'police with a description of the animal impounded.- `I€ the <br /> impounded animal is a dog, the keeper shall make a reasonable effort <br /> to determine whether a license for the dog has been issued by this <br /> municipality or any adjoining municipality, and if so shall ascertain <br /> the nameand address of the person to whom the license was issued. <br /> If the license was issued during the current license year or during. <br /> the preceding license year, then.before the dog may be disposed of, by <br /> sale or otherwise, the keeper of such kennel or other place in which it <br /> has been impounded, shall give notice of impounding to the police and <br /> to such license holder not less than 24 hours before any disposal of <br /> • <br />
