Keguiar Louncii MeeLing Y <br /> September 11, 1990 <br /> 1 <br /> 2 Councilmember Enrooth reported that at a meeting of the Community <br /> 3 Service Recreational Community Educational Funding one of the subjects • <br /> 4 being addressed is various contributions of people and how it will be funded <br /> 5 in the future. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Councilmember Marks said he has received a number of calls from <br /> 8 residents who do not favor the Silver Lake Road project and he feels <br /> 9 supportive of stopping the project. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Burt clarified that the part Silver Lake Road project that we do not <br /> 12 participate in will go ahead regardless of our participation. Our <br /> 13 responsibility would be anything decorative, i.e. sidewalk, medians, planters. <br /> 14 The Council would vote on the amount of money the City has obligated to the <br /> 15 project of adding three extra feet width, thus improving.the existing <br /> 16 situation. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Recommendation <br /> 19 Mayor Ranallo asked Burt to meet with New Brighton city manager Dave <br /> 20 Childs and see what would happen if both cities say "no" and whether <br /> 21 widening would make the situation safer. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Councilmember Marks is considering attending the League of Cities meeting <br /> 24 in Houston, Texas. Burt thought the application was to be in the end of • <br /> 25 August. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Mayor Ranallo attended the League of Minnesota Cities State Legislative <br /> 29 Committee representing the Municipal Liquor Dealers. Burt and Assistant <br /> 30 City Manager Sue Vander-Heyden also serve on that committee. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Mayor Ranallo reminded the Council that the next day at 1:00 p.m. at <br /> 33 Autumn Woods Apartments, there will be a ceremony dedication of the <br /> 34 plaque in memory of Mayor Robert Sundland. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 PROCLAMATION OF PORNOGRAPHY AWARENESS WEEK <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Motion Marks, second by Ranallo to declare October 28 through <br /> 39 November 4. 1990 Pornography Awareness Week. <br /> 40 -- Motion carried unanimously. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Mayor Ranallo recommended checking ordinances to be sure that the City <br /> 43 ordinances regarding pornography are up to date. <br /> 44 • <br /> 45 B.
