Section 2. Section 3, Subd. 1 of Appendix I to the 1973 Code of Ordinances is amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> 1. Residence Districts <br /> a. R-1 Single Family Residence <br /> b. R-1 A Single Family Lake Shore Residence <br /> C. R-2 Two Family Residence <br /> d. R-3 Townhouse Residence <br /> e. R-4 Multiple Family Residence <br /> Section 3. Appendix I to the 1973 Code of Ordinances is amended to add a new Section <br /> 4A to read as follows: <br /> Subdivision 1. Purpose <br /> The purpose of this district is to create and maintain lakeshore areas for single <br /> family detached residences which, due to the natural amenity of the lake, and the <br /> topographic characteristics, call for zoning regulations somewhat different from <br /> other single family districts and designed for the preservation of natural areas. <br /> Subdivision 2. Permitted Uses <br /> Within an R-1 A Residence District, no building or land may be used for any <br /> purpose other than a single family detached dwelling and permitted conditional <br /> uses and accessory uses. <br /> Subdivision 3. Permitted Conditional Uses <br /> Within an R-1 A Residence District, only the following uses may be permitted by <br /> Conditional Use Permit: <br /> 1. Essential service structures including but not limited to buildings such as <br /> telephone exchange sub-stations, booster or pressure regulating stations, <br /> wells and pumping stations, elevated tanks and electrical and electrical <br /> power sub-stations. <br /> 2. Public municipal buildings including fire and police stations and other <br /> municipal service buildings not considered industrial. <br /> Subdivision 4. Permitted Accessory Uses <br /> Within an R-1 A Residence District, the following uses shall be permitted subject to <br /> the following and to the provisions of Section 12: <br /> 1. Private garages, parking spaces, accessory buildings for automobiles, <br /> recreational vehicles and trucks as permitted under Section 730:00, Subds. <br /> 2 and 3 of this Code. <br /> 6 <br />
