The increase is 3% plus an <br /> 17 ac:--,;stament fc•r oonu.ation over the next two years . She advised <br /> Is t`.at of the Bureau are still provided at the Wilshire <br /> 19 Park Sc`,001 , the N,iddle School and at the High School . <br /> 2. Freeman . who has served on the Board for one year, has noticed <br /> 22 that the clientele in the 'City is changing. She feel& the <br /> 23 addition of the Health Center is a real plus to the operation. It <br /> 24 was her opinion that residents of St. Anthony should be making <br /> 25 better use of 'the services available at the Bureau and has been <br /> 26 working closely with the Police Chief. <br /> ,!�7 <br /> S Kay Andrews, Executive Lirector, Of the Youth Services Bureau, <br /> 29 advised that the Bureau provides intervention/treatment 'services <br /> 30 whereas the D.A.R.E. Program provides prevention services. This <br /> 31 comment was in response to a question regarding funding available <br /> 32 for these types of services. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Councilmember Marks observed that the record of repeat offenders <br /> 35 is very impressive as there are very few. He was particularly <br /> 36 impressed with the teen suicide program which helped friends of <br /> 37 those who had committed suicide. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 Xeyor Ranallo indicated his concern with the longevity of the <br /> 40 programs of the Bureau and questioned what is bring considered <br /> 41 for financial sources in the: future. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Andrews responded that no new programs have commenced that were <br /> 44 not fee based and fees can be earned through the Youth Employment <br /> 45 Program. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 Andrews told the Council of a pilot volunteer program recently <br /> 48 started by Firatar Bank of Now Brighton . Employees of the bank <br /> 49 have adopted the agency and will supply forty employeea .who will <br /> 50 offer their volunteer services to the Bureau . She noted that the <br /> 51 Bureau is still receiving some corporate and local donations but <br /> 52 these have decreased in amount. <br /> 3 <br /> :54 <br />
