Street Light Request - 2916-3000 Rankin Road. 8 9 A letter, dated July 15, 1994, from Northern States Power Company, was 10 included in the agenda packet, and explained NSP charges for installation of a 11 street light. The cost is $1,215.10 plus there is a monthly fee of$5.30. NSP 12 did, however, suggest that due to the close proximity of existing street lights, 13 petitioners should consider other alternatives. Judy Makowske, who lives in the 14 area on Rankin Road which is effected, said that even though there are lights 15 near the area that the residents want lit, the situation is that trees block out the 16 light. The petitioners are asking that a shorter light be installed so the light 17 would be beneath the branches. Makowske indicated that she will poll residents 18 in her area during the National Night Out neighborhood event. There was no 19 Council action on the petition at this time. 20 21 B. Conditional Use permit for a muffler and glass repair shop (Exhaust Pro/Fast 22 Glass) at 4000 Silver Lake Road. 23 24 Mr. and Mrs. Rosar, the applicants, were present to answer any questions from 25 the Council. Their request had been tabled at the July 12, 1994 Council 26 meeting so the Rosar's could gather needed information, i.e., improvements for 27 the structure and aesthetic improvements pertaining to landscaping, driveway, 28 dumpster enclosures, and signage. These plans were presented to the Council 29 in their agenda packets. Relative to the hours of operation, it was noted that 30 Tires Plus is open until 9:00 P.M. and Good Year is open until 8:00 P.M. 31 Council consensus was that if Tires Plus is open until 9:00 P.M., the applicants, 32 too, may keep their shop open until 9:00 P.M., if they wish. 33 34 Councilmember Enrooth asked about the space behind the existing building. 35 Mr. Rosar responded that it is a drive and behind that is the road into Hardee's. 36 During this discussion, Mayor Ranallo noted that in Wisconsin when there is a 37 planning or variance request, the property involved is filmed on which can be 38 shown at the planning and Council meetings. City Manager Mornson agreed 39 that would help the Planning Commission and Council when they are making 40 planning/variance decisions. Enrooth also asked about a part of the property 41
