The Chief indicated that there are enough controls in place to deal with code
enforcement issues. He feels that controls should be use to control the situation and
indicated that they can be abused; that they are used when it is required to keep a situation
under control.
8.. Proposed Political Sign Ordinance Revisions. The Fire Chief answered questions
regarding the issue of political signs in the right-of-way. Motion by Wagner, seconded by
Kaczor to recommend approval of the proposed revisions to the political sign ordinance.
Motion approved.
9. Planning Commission Terms. Staff reminded those Commissioners whose terms are up to
submit their letter to reapply to the Commission to the City Manager.
10. 1999 Planning Commission Goals and Priorities. Chair Bergstrom asked the
Commissioners to compile a list of goals and priorities for discussion at the December
meeting.
Comments.
Feedback on the Krier planning session was generally favorable. Most Commissioners
were surprised that the retention of a retail use for the area was a foregone conclusion on
the part of Mr. Krier. There was an expectation of a discussion of other possible uses.
Parking signs along 33`d Avenue NE are somewhat confusing. Commissioner Kaczor
asked that Staff review the situation in light of the fact that there is a proposed park being
sited there and it is not clear if parking is allowed or not.
Adjourned at 9:15p.m.
•
