City Council Regular Meeting Minutes 14
March 23, 2004
Page 14
Councilmember Faust stated he must add a sad note to the meeting, as a long-term resident of
the City, Dr. Bill Carr, passed away on March 19. He noted Dr. Carr had served as the City's
medical officer for 40 years and Councilmember Faust offered heartfelt condolences to Dr.
Karr's family. He added everyone who knew Dr. Carr said he was a"prince of a fellow."

Councilmember Thuesen indicated he was at the funeral service and there was standing room
only in all parts of the church, as Dr. Carr had touched many people's lives.

Mayor Hodson noted the Bulldozer Bash turned out to be an"amazing event." He indicated
approximately 4,000 to 6,000 people attended, with residents from other communities also
participating. He thanked those responsible for hosting and sponsoring the event, along with the
groups and departments that provided entertainment, refreshments and logistics. He also listed
the dignitaries in attendance and thanked all who attended. He added, in addition, between
$8,000 and$10,000 had been earned at a silent auction for scholarships and noted most of the
local television stations provided coverage of the event.

VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM.

Mayor Hodson stated he continued to ask area mayors about the inclusion of a community forum
item on their City Council agendas. He noted many communities did not have an open forum, as
the Council meetings were strictly for Council business. He encouraged residents to come
forward and take advantage of the opportunity to address the community and Council during this
time, as Council and staff wished to keep communications open with City residents.' He added
further information regarding the City's Council meetings could be located at the library or on
the City's website.

No one came forward to address Council.

IX.
