City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> 13 <br /> March 23, 2004 <br /> Page 13 <br /> 1 bids and a public hearing scheduled for the April 27, 2004, City Council meeting. He <br /> 2 indicated work would begin on May 16, 2004, which would include sanitary sewer, <br /> 3 watermain and storm sewer from Silver Lake Road west to the existing 39`h Avenue. He <br /> 4 added access from 39`h Avenue to Video Stardom and Freedom Gas Station was <br /> 5 anticipated to remain open with some disturbances. <br /> 6 Mr. Mornson stated the second-phase bid opening was scheduled for sometime around <br /> 7 July 20, 2004, and would include the following: watermain, sanitary sewer and storm <br /> 8 sewer from Stinson Boulevard to Phase I connections; reconstruction of existing 39`h <br /> 9 Avenue from Stinson Boulevard to the connection with the new 39`h Avenue; <br /> 10 construction of new 39`h Avenue from Silver Lake Road to the existing 391h Avenue, <br /> 11 which would be completed by September 1, 2004. He noted demolition was scheduled to <br /> 12 begin around April 7, 2004, and would take approximately five weeks to complete. <br /> 13 ■ Sue Hall would return from family leave on April 12, 2004. <br /> 14 ■ City Clerk Kroeplin's last day with the City would be April 30, 2004. He stated an <br /> 15 interview panel for the City Clerk position had been formed and interviews would occur <br /> 16 the following week. <br /> 17 ■ The cooler for the liquor store was currently being installed. He indicated the Amcon <br /> 18 project was still on a schedule to open in mid to late May. <br /> 19 ■ There were no changes to the Public Works schedule and construction of the fire station <br /> 20 would begin around mid-April. <br /> 21 ■ Meeting to review 2004 goals was scheduled for April 5, 2004, at 5:00 p.m. and a joint <br /> 22 meeting with the School Board was scheduled for 6:00 p.m. the same evening. <br /> 23 ■ Joint meeting with Park Commission scheduled for April 12, 2004, at 5:30 p.m. <br /> 24 ■ Joint meeting with Planning Commission scheduled for April 20, 2004, at 5:30 p.m. <br /> 25 ■ Regular Council meetings scheduled for April 13, 2004, and April 27, 2004. <br /> 26 ■ City-wide Cleanup Day scheduled for May 1, 2004, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Councilmember Horst stated he had no report. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Councilmember Stille stated he had no report. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Councilmember Thuesen stated he had no report. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Councilmember Faust noted he had talked with an individual who was starting a new group <br /> 35 called the St. Anthony Tennis Association,which consisted of community volunteers whose <br /> 36 mission was to support tennis and enhance tennis at all levels. He explained it was run by <br /> 37 Community Services and residents should call (612) 706-1163 for further information. He <br /> 38 indicated the program would be"kicked off'on May 8,2004, at 10:00 a.m. with music, <br /> 39 information and the opportunity to obtain lessons. He added this was another way for the City's <br /> 40 children, as well as all citizens, to stay involved. He provided Council with further written <br /> 41 information regarding the Association. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Councilmember Faust reminded residents that Cleanup Day was scheduled for May 1, 2004, and <br /> 44 indicated it was very important to utilize the opportunity Cleanup Day provided. He encouraged <br /> 45 residents to collect some of the trash that was exposing itself from the winter to "get a head start <br /> 46 on how the community looks." <br />
