City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> November 9, 2004 06. <br /> Page 6 <br /> 1 Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen stated he had also talked with the third graders about how the public <br /> 2 works and fire department project involved the public, and the importance of involving the <br /> 3 public. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br /> 6 Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council <br /> 7 on items that are not on the regular agenda. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen acknowledged the attendance of two boy scouts who are working on <br /> 10 their merit badge. He encouraged them to invite other scouts as well. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Clarence Ranallo explained that over the past several months, communications with cable <br /> 13 television has not been good. He reviewed that the first week in September, during a <br /> 14 commission meeting, the electricity in Roseville went out and the standby generator did not kick <br /> 15 in. The generator started at the same time the electricity came back on, which caused a huge <br /> 16 problem. He explained that tonight there are seven council meetings going on through Channel <br /> 17 15, into Channel 16, which causes a problem. He advised that Don Swenson, engineer with <br /> 18 Channel 15, is attending the meeting tonight to address these problems, and he has already <br /> 19 identified several. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Mr. Ranallo stated that the City desired a quality product when televising Council meetings, <br /> 22 which has not been occurring. He explained the Council will be asked to purchase a character <br /> 23 generator so the speaker can be identified. Mr. Ranallo stated he has received many telephones <br /> 24 calls complaining about the quality of the Council meeting broadcasts. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen thanked Mr. Ranallo for his report, noting he serves on the Cable <br /> 27 Commission and is a former elected official as well. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen moved forward with the agenda. <br /> 30 <br /> . 31 IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br /> 32 Councilmember Faust invited City Manager Mornson to join him at the podium and presented <br /> 33 him with a certificate from the International City County Management Association (IMCA) in <br /> 34 recognition of his 20 years of dedicated service. Councilmember Faust stated it is his pleasure <br /> 35 on behalf of the Executive Boardmembers to present Mr. Mornson with the IMCA Service <br /> 36 Award and wished him well as he continued in government service. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Councilmember Faust noted that Mr. Mornson has served St. Anthony Village for ten years. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Mayor Pro-tem Thuesen added his appreciation to Mr. Mornson. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 X. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATIONAL DOCUMENTS. <br /> 43 None. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 XI. ADJOURNMENT. <br /> 46 Motion by Councilmember Horst, seconded by Councilmember Faust, to adjourn the meeting at <br /> 47 7:37 p.m. <br />
