• <br /> 2. Furnishing of Vehicle. Fridley shall furnish a 1971 Chevrolet 14 foot <br /> step van which will serve as the HMRV. Fridley shall retain its <br /> registered ownership of the vehicle and maintain motor vehicle insurance <br /> on it. To the extent Fridley bears insurance costs on the vehicle which <br /> it wishes pro rated to the other parties to this agreement, the other <br /> parties agree to each pay an equal pro rata share of that cost. <br /> 3. Furnishing of Specialized Equipment. The parties' representatives will <br /> confer and agree upon the specific type and quantities of specialized <br /> hazardous materials equipment, supplies, personnel protective gear, and <br /> ancillary items necessary to equip the vehicle. The parties agree to <br /> share equally in the cost of these items and the expense of furnishing <br /> cabinets or other interior fixtures needed in the vehicle. <br /> 4. Replacing Equipment and Supplies. Unless otherwise agreed to by all <br /> parties' representatives, equipment and supplies used from the vehicle <br /> shall be replaced promptly by the party who used and expended the <br /> Items. If a party fails to promptly replace the items, the other parties <br /> may make the replacement and invoice the defaulting party for such <br /> costs. It is intended that the vehicle shall be fully equipped at all <br /> times with the equipment and supplies agreed to by the parties. <br /> 5. Storage and ?Maintenance of Vehicle. Fridley agrees to permanently store <br /> the HMRV at its station at no cost assessable to the other parties for <br /> • said storage. Fridley further agrees to arrange for routine maintenance <br /> of the vehicle. Normal operating and maintenance costs, e.g. fuel, oil, <br /> tires and battery will be prorated between the parties on an equal basis <br /> and invoiced by Fridley. Extraordinary vehicle expenses, i.e. major <br /> repairs in excess of $500, shall be submitted to the parties' <br /> representatives for prior approval and if approved, -paid in the same <br /> manner as normal maintenance expenses. <br /> 6. Emergency Response of EMRV. Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, St. Anthony <br /> and SBM may summon the vehicle to an incident within their respective <br /> areas of fire protection responsibility in the same manner as they <br /> request mutual aid from Fridley. Fridley agrees to respond the vehicle <br /> with a minimum of two firefighters in the same manner as Fridley would <br /> respond to a mutual aid request. <br /> It is understood that Fridley is subject to a priority obligation of <br /> providing fire suppression forces within its own community and/or mutual <br /> aid district. If no personnel are at Fridley's station due to other fire <br /> emergency calls, the requesting party for the HMRV will make alternative <br /> arrangements as necessary to respond the vehicle. <br /> • <br /> —2— <br />
