PUBLIC HEARINGS
None
5. ORDINANCE VARIATIONS
Mr. Sheldon A. Mortenson presented his request for building permits to
construct two 18 unit apartment buildings at 3713 - 21 Foss Road. (Lots
13, 14, Block 12, Mounds View Acres, Second Addition) Mr. Mortenson
pointed out his variance could be considerably reduced by attachment of
the two buildings into one 36 unit building. Mr. Mortenson felt const-
ruction of one 36 unit building would be less expensive, but would not be
as architecturally attractive.
Upon motion by t°iiedtke, seconded by Mesenbring, it was moved to recommend
to the council to grant 9,000 square foot tot area variances plus an
architectural variance from brick to stucco, in the spandrels between
windows for each of the two 18 unit apartment buildings which would be
duplicates of the adjacent buildings at 3720-3800 Foss Road.
All in favor.
6. ZONING VARIATIONS
Mr. Gordon Hedlund of Electronics Associates appeared to discuss the
possibility of rezoning from R-2 two family to Commercial , the property
in the 30 - 39XX blocks on the East side of Silver Lake Road. The Board
Members reminded Mr. Hedlund of the recent litigation which definitely
upheld the R-2 zoning. The Board further indicated their position is
still against a change in zoning.
