w Gi• i �h 1 SPECIAL PLANNING BOARD MEETING • May 3, 1966 The special meeting of the St. Anthony Village Planning Board was called to order by Chairman Howitz at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday May 3, 1966. The following members were present at roll call : Louis Howitz Robert Mesenbring Donald Kronk Duane Miedtke Fred Katterheinrich Dr. Thomas Emond The following was absent: Curtis Englund Also present was the Planning Board Secretary, James Shaughnessy. Chairman Howitz announced that he called the special meeting upon request of the Village Council to expedite discussion of the rezoning of 33rd Avenue and Stinson Boulevard. The Board examined Minneapolis zoning maps and standards as they pertain to adjacent Minneapolis B2S-1-vacated service stations. It was noted these petroleum service stations have failed and a variety of sub- sequent uses have attempted to survive. The Board discussed the change in neighborhood character that has taken place since the Lemke Greenhouses have been removed and the new attractive Pat-Pen Subdivision that has developed replacing -the Greenhouses. The Board is now aware the Northern States Substat•ion' is going to vacate this site further changing the neighborhood's character, by eliminating the sounds and appearances of high voltage transformers. Upon motion by M@senbring, seconded by Katterheinrich it was moved to recommend to the Council to rezone from C-Commercial to R-2 two family the following described properties: Tract A Reg. Land Survey No. 196 Plat 63642, Parcel 5000 (Northern States Power Substation at 2417 - 33rd Avenue N.E.) _ _ - Commence at a point in the S line of SW LL 0' NW L4 12 rods- E of SW corner thence North 183. ft. thence East 16 ft. thence South 183 ft. thence West to beginning. (A 16' X 150' Parcel of land between Mrs. Amerman and N.S.P.) Voting on. the motion: . Aye: Mesenbring, Howtiz, Kronk, Katterheinrich, Miedtke Nay: Or. Emond Motion Carried.
