w Gi• i <br /> �h 1 <br /> SPECIAL PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br /> • May 3, 1966 <br /> The special meeting of the St. Anthony Village Planning Board was called to order <br /> by Chairman Howitz at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday May 3, 1966. <br /> The following members were present at roll call : <br /> Louis Howitz Robert Mesenbring Donald Kronk <br /> Duane Miedtke Fred Katterheinrich Dr. Thomas Emond <br /> The following was absent: <br /> Curtis Englund <br /> Also present was the Planning Board Secretary, James Shaughnessy. <br /> Chairman Howitz announced that he called the special meeting upon request of the <br /> Village Council to expedite discussion of the rezoning of 33rd Avenue and <br /> Stinson Boulevard. The Board examined Minneapolis zoning maps and standards as <br /> they pertain to adjacent Minneapolis B2S-1-vacated service stations. <br /> It was noted these petroleum service stations have failed and a variety of sub- <br /> sequent uses have attempted to survive. <br /> The Board discussed the change in neighborhood character that has taken place <br /> since the Lemke Greenhouses have been removed and the new attractive Pat-Pen <br /> Subdivision that has developed replacing -the Greenhouses. <br /> The Board is now aware the Northern States Substat•ion' is going to vacate this <br /> site further changing the neighborhood's character, by eliminating the sounds and <br /> appearances of high voltage transformers. <br /> Upon motion by M@senbring, seconded by Katterheinrich it was moved to recommend <br /> to the Council to rezone from C-Commercial to R-2 two family the following <br /> described properties: <br /> Tract A Reg. Land Survey No. 196 <br /> Plat 63642, Parcel 5000 (Northern States Power Substation at <br /> 2417 - 33rd Avenue N.E.) _ _ - <br /> Commence at a point in the S line of SW LL 0' NW L4 <br /> 12 rods- E of SW corner thence North 183. ft. thence <br /> East 16 ft. thence South 183 ft. thence West to <br /> beginning. (A 16' X 150' Parcel of land between <br /> Mrs. Amerman and N.S.P.) <br /> Voting on. the motion: . <br /> Aye: Mesenbring, Howtiz, Kronk, Katterheinrich, Miedtke <br /> Nay: Or. Emond <br /> Motion Carried. <br />
