Whitney for legal. <br /> services .-to the..H:R.A. during July, 1983. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> • The concerns about parking level enclosures for ,the Phase l condominium . <br /> ..structure which had. been .r'aised: during the Council meeting- held just <br /> prior to this meeting, were- discussed: -further with. the P.1anning-..Con- <br /> sultant. Mr. Krier agreed..to negotiate with the redevelopers an <br /> - -alternative .plan for minimizing the--ef.fect of wind-and- rain on the <br /> parking areas during the winter and to -ascertain whether the increases <br /> in unit costs if the enclosed parking-were provided as quoted- by . the <br /> architect, had-.,been realistic. The. consultant said. all these details <br /> would be worked out- before:. a final plan.- for- the project would be. sub <br /> mitted . for approval . However., 'he noted..that- many- luxury -condos in the <br /> metropolitan. -area.- have been constructed.. with open parking ramps . <br /> Commissioner Ranallo indi.cated :he perceives the architect .could have <br /> been more creative in providing. bet ter..sheltering, at- least -half way-, <br /> . <br /> up, for aproject whose residents would -be 55 and over. He said -he <br /> personally would rather pay more ..for. .a- heated garage because an open . <br /> garage just below. the first-f.loor apartments- would..decrease .the heating- , <br /> efficiency 'for those units . <br /> Mrs-. Makowske questioned whether.. "we- might.-.-have over extended- those <br /> ,parking spaces since the plans now preclude using some -of. the parking . <br /> spaces for_- storage when parking needs- diminish with the aging of- the <br /> residents" . <br /> Motion by Secretary/Treas.urer- Marks and seconded. by V"ice--Chairman . <br /> • Letourneau- to.
