Regular Council Meeting
August 14, 1990
page 4
1 Mr. Maschka advised that the revenue sources for the Bureau are
2 from client fees, donations , federal government, donations, in-kind
3 and county and local municipalities. He noted that in 1989, the City
4 of St. Anthony contributed $8,365.00 and received approximately
5 $13, 180 in services. It was his opinion that all participating units
6 received about twice the amount of services as funding donated by
7 them.
8
9 He felt that the policy to be involved "early" in any problem being
10 experienced by a youngster avoids later and longer solutions to much
11 larger problems. He felt the Chore Service had a twofold benefit as
12 it assisted a youngster and allowed some seniors to stay in their
13 homes longer.
_ 1H
15 Discussion continued regarding the funds appropriated by Hennepin
16 County and Ramsey County. The City of St. Anthony is located in
17 both of these counties.
18
19 Councilmember Makowske inquired if any on-site counselling had been
20 done at St. Charles School . Ms . Andrews advised nothing has been done
21 at this school at this point in time.
22
3 Councilmember Marks inquired if there was any representative from School
24 District #,282 working with the Youth Services Bureau. Ms. Andrews
5 advised that Shelly Freeman has indicated an interest and will be
26 attending a meeting next week. •
27
28 Ms. Andrews advised that the Bureau offices will be moving soon to
9 a location at the Rush Lake Business Park and she felt this location
30 would be more accessible, more convenient and would accommodate all
31 of the services offered under one roof.
32
33 Mayor Ranallo expressed the Council ' s appreciation to Ms. Andrews
34 and Mr. Maschka for being present at the Council meeting and for
35 all of the information they were able to give the Council .
36
37 5.
