STAFF REPORT <br /> DATE: February 24, 1993 <br /> TO: Planning Commission <br /> FROM: David Mark Urbia, Management Assistant <br /> ITEM: AGENDA ITEM VII -- STAFF REPORT <br /> At the February 23, 1993 City Council meeting, the Council discussed various Planning <br /> Commission issues. A summary of the discussion is as follows: <br /> Sign Amortization <br /> A majority of the Council did not feel this proposal is necessary in the sign ordinance. <br /> Further, some members expressed a desire to leave the recently adopted sign ordinance as <br /> is for now, and to place no further restrictions upon businesses. Regarding informational <br /> signs, a majority of the City Council felt that these signs are not a significant problem at this <br /> time. It was suggested that perhaps informational signs could be defined under the sign <br /> • ordinance, but that the number of signs and size of signs could be left'to the discretion of <br /> the Zoning Administrator. <br /> Parking Ordinance <br /> A majority of the Council believed that this issue should not be discussed at this time. <br /> • <br />
