City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> January 14, 1997 <br /> Page 4 <br /> 1 Marks reported Mr. Kinsey is paying for the trip himself as he wants the funds donated to the <br /> 2 Committee to go directly for the Teacher Exchange Program. <br /> 3 B. Mayor. <br /> 4 Mayor Ranallo reported a letter he received from Barry Tedlund stating he is interested in a <br /> 5 farewell program to the current City Hall/Community Center before it is demolished. Mr. <br /> 6 Tedlund stated he is willing to help with the program. Mayor Ranallo reported he spoke with <br /> 7 Mr. Tedlund and suggested he contact Kim Johnson, as he has also expressed interest. Mayor <br /> 8 Ranallo also suggested Bonnie Brever be contacted in regard to such an event. <br /> 9 There was Council consensus to direct City Manager to contact Bonnie Brever in regard to a <br /> 10 farewell event at the City Hall/Community Center to be organized by the School District. <br /> 11 Mayor Ranallo noted unicycles were scheduled to use the new gymnasium. He reported tricycles <br /> 12 were used in the gymnasium and they left black marks on the floor. He questioned if the <br /> 13 unicycles would leave even worse marks on the floor. <br /> 14 Mornson stated the group would be meeting in the old gymnasium until February 1, 1997 and he <br /> 15 would do further investigating prior to that time. <br /> 16 Mayor Ranallo reported his attendance at a Cable Commission meeting earlier this month. He <br /> 17 reported the Commission was planning to file an injunction against U.S. West but has delayed <br /> 18 this action as they will be meeting with representatives of U.S. West to try to resolve the issues. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 C. City Manager. <br /> 21 City Manager Momson reported Staff will be moving into the new building and training on the <br /> 22 new phone system on Thursday and Friday of this week. They plan to be open for business on <br /> 23 January 21, 1997. The police department will delay their move for one week to.allow the <br /> 24 computer system to be installed and set up. <br /> 25 Mornson reported most of the audio visual equipment is in the building,but not yet in place. <br /> 26 Further installation will be delayed 2-3 weeks until the counter top for the Council bench and the <br /> 27 podium are installed. <br /> 28 Mornson reported he had met today with Bonnie Brever and Bob Foster in regard to the new City <br /> 29 Hall/Community Center Dedication Ceremony. He noted a list of invitations which would be <br /> 30 sent for the Ceremony. He noted the dedication itself, will be held in the entryway, with the <br /> 31 Council Chamber and multi-purpose area open for overflow. There will be a small stage to be <br /> 32 utilized by Bob Foster,the Pastor to lead prayer, and the Mayor to make his remarks. <br /> 33 There was Council consensus that special seating and special parking arrangements will not be <br /> 34 made for any of the guests. <br />
