City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> January 14, 1997 <br /> Page 5 <br /> 1 Morrison reported Ms. Brever or Mr. Foster will contact the Tri-City Legion to ask if they will <br /> 2 donate a flag to be raised at the Ceremony, possibly by the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts. Key <br /> 3 chains have been ordered and will be distributed by the Mayor as guests enter the building. <br /> 4 Councilmembers will be present to escort a group of ten residents on a tour including the <br /> 5 conference room and the Council Chambers,where representatives of each department will have <br /> 6 a display. Along with a DARE display by the police department and fire prevention by the fire <br /> 7 department, Bonnie Brever will have a 50th Anniversary Celebration display and a book <br /> 8 containing articles related to the history of the new building will be created. The multi-purpose <br /> 9 room will be used for serving food which will include coffee, cookies, and pop. Morrison <br /> 10 reported Ms. Brever may ask the Kiwanis to help serve and clean up in the multi-purpose room.. <br /> 11 Staff is making arrangements for additional coat racks and a roll of carpet will be laid in the gym. <br /> 12 Morrison reported there will be a news release in the paper announcing the Dedication <br /> 13 Ceremony. It will be listed in the City Newsletter, and the Chamber will be advertising the <br /> 14 event. NativityLutheran Church will be asked to allow for additional parking and police <br /> 15 reserves will be asked to direct traffic. Morrison noted he and Mayor Ranallo will be making a <br /> 16 presentation to the Chamber on January 21, 1997 and inviting members to attend the Dedication <br /> 17 Ceremony. <br /> 18 Morrison reported the school will be asked to play at the Ceremony from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., the <br /> 19 Orchestra from 2:30 to 4:00 P.M. and the National Anthem will be sung. <br /> 20 Mayor Ranallo explained the keychain distributed to guests will have a picture of the new City <br /> 21 Hall/Community Center on one side and will read`Building Dedication, January 22, 1997," on <br /> 22 the other side. A basic key will be included on the chain. <br /> 23 Momson reported the second replacement police officer has been hired. Both new officers may <br /> 24 be present at the January 28, 1997 City Council Meeting for introduction. A part-time office <br /> 25 worker has also been hired to assist the Receptionist/Licensing Clerk and the Utility Billing <br /> 26 Clerk and to help with the reservation of space in the new building. <br /> 27 Morrison noted the first Comprehensive Plan Meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, <br /> 28 January 29, 1997 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 IX. Resolution 97-001. re: Designate Mayor Pro Tem. <br /> 34 Motion by Marks, second by Wagner to approve Resolution 97-001, designating Richard <br /> 35 Enrooth as Mayor Pro Tem for the calendar year of 1997. <br /> 36 Mayor Ranallo thanked Councilmember Enrooth for serving as Mayor Pro Tem for the <br /> 37 year of 1996. <br />
