City Council Regular Meeting Minutes December 17, 1997 Page 3 1 VII. REPORTS. 2 A. Councilmembers. 3 Faust reported that the meeting with Senator Marty and Representative McGuire was 4 productive. He noted that Senator Marty and Representative McGuire complimented the 5 document provided by WSB, a product of the Task Force. He was encouraged by the 6 meeting and felt the City will be able to move forward. There is a lot of work to be done but 7 the City is on the right course. 8 Mayor Ranallo noted he, the City Manager and Task Force members may all be called on to 9 testify before the legislature. He stated this is why the City will have the meeting with their 10 representatives and inform them of the situation. 11 Marks reported he serves as the City representative to the Civic Orchestra Board of Directors 12 and was recently appointed as the Chairperson of that organization. 13 14 B. Manor. . 15 1. Presentation of Appreciation Plagues to Outgoing Councilmembers. 16 Mayor Ranallo complimented and thanked both Mrs. Barb Enrooth and Mrs. Audrey Wagner 17 for the amount of time that they had shared their husbands with the City of St. Anthony. 18 Mayor Ranallo noted a letter received by the City of St. Anthony from the Middle Mississippi 19 River Watershed Management Organization stating that Councilmember Enrooth has played a 20 vital role in the development of that process. The letter commended Enrooth and asked that 21 he continue to serve on that Organization as a representative of the City of St. Anthony until 22 his term expires. 23 Mayor Ranallo presented Councilmember Enrooth with a Plaque of Appreciation for his 24 twenty years of dedicated service and inspiring leadership as a Planning Commissioner and 25 City Councilmember to the City of St. Anthony. 26 Mayor Ranallo presented Councilmember Wagner with a Plaque of Appreciation for his 27 sixteen years of dedicated service and inspiring leadership as Planning Commissioner and City 28 Councilmember to the City of St. Anthony. 29 Mayor Ranallo thanked both Councilmembers and expressed appreciation for the work they 30 had done over the years. 31 Councilmember Wagner stated it had been an enjoyable experience working with the City. 32 He will miss working with the Council and City Staff. He expressed appreciation to his wife 33 for allowing him the time to serve on the Council. He stated he would leave the City Council 34 with the challenge to maintain the quality and level of service in the City and to have it 35 continue at a reasonable tax rate.
